Joey Rooney has grown up a lot over four seasons on Liv and Maddie, and actor Joey Bragg has a good idea of where he’ll be in 10 years time.
“I would keep it realistic but seeing who is currently in the white House I am going off the assumption that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!” Joey jokes with JJJ.
He continues, “I think Joey Rooney is going into his fifth year as a cast-member on SNL but is leaving to go protect the city of New York with his newfound superpowers.”
That’s a good prediction!
Speaking of his new SNL cast member status, Joey also opened up about how big the stand-up debut storyline was for him personally.
“[It meant] The world,” he shares. “Our show runners Ron and John were at the forefront of making this happen. When they approached me to write ten minutes, I was elated but nervous.”
“You never know how it’s gonna translate to a different platform not to mention I can’t see the audience the material was written for. I think it turned out really well thanks to our director Chris Poulos.”

Tonight’s the night…the night we say goodbye to our favorite Rooney family on Liv and Maddie.
“It really felt like it was the last week of high school, which it kind of was for the young actors,” showrunners John D. Beck and Ron Hart told JJJ about the final week of filming.
They added, “We have been lucky enough to work on a number of different television shows but we never got to finish a show where it felt like the time was right and everyone was, not ready to see it end, but ready to move on. That was a very nice feeling.”
Tonight’s episode will reveal that the Rooney house is finally rebuilt and Karen (Kali Rocha) can’t wait to have the family reunite in Wisconsin.
However, when exciting opportunities arise for each of the Rooney kids, their summer plans are suddenly thrown into jeopardy.
Liv and Maddie: Cali Style airs Friday, March 24 @5:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
Dove Cameron, Tenzing Norgay Trainor and Joey Bragg make up one of our favorite sibling groups ever, so it’s no wonder that they totally impressed for their auditions for the show.
“This is my favorite story ever,” John D. Beck says before sharing how Joey entered their world. “Joey Rooney was an incredibly difficult part to cast because we needed to find somebody who was not the typical kid…not a cool kid, not a nerd, but something we termed as confidently awkward.”
“He was sitting in the lobby and I made a note in my mind to make sure we saw him because I thought he was going to be the kid we needed for Joey,” he continues. “He walked in and the first words Joey Bragg took a look at Ron, who kind of does look a little like Joey Bragg, with the glasses, but isn’t thing like Joey is.”
“The first words he ever said to us were ‘Hey, you look exactly like I’ll look in a few years if I make a lot of bad life choices’. I was like, ‘This is my guy. You don’t have to say another word. You got the part as far as I’m concerned’. He did nail the part.”

The actress shared a touching gif moment from the finale on her Instagram last night with her fans, preparing them for tonight.
“11 hours until the #livandmaddie series finale. raise your hand if you’re not ok,” Dove captioned, with a string of hand emojis following it.
Disney Channel also just released one of the finale clips, where Dove sings the shows’ theme song, “Better In Stereo”, around the campfire — and it will break. your. heart.

Let’s be honest, Liv and Maddie fans are some of the best fans out there, and the cast definitely agree.
“I don’t know if it has hit me yet,” Joey Bragg says honestly. “It’s amazing every time I meet a fan or a parent that claims to not be a fan. I love what we are putting out and I am just so glad that other people like it too.”
He adds, “It’s amazing to see how many times I’ve interacted with fans on social media and to think ‘Wow, this is just a fraction of what Dove must be getting.’”
There are a handful of moments that stand out to Joey after meeting fans of the show.
“There are some fans that get obsessed but when I was there age I got obsessed with certain things too. James Bond, Cars, perfecting my abs,” he jokes. “I just love that there is someone whose day can be turned completely around by me liking their most recent collage they made for Jillow.”
The Liv and Maddie series finale airs TOMORROW, Friday, March 24th @ 5:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
