Lucy Hale's New Show 'Life Sentence' Gets First Trailer - Watch Now!

Lucy Hale‘s new show, Life Sentence, looks so good!

The show centers on Stella (Hale), a girl who has spent the last eight years living like she was dying (because she was).

But when Stella finds out that her cancer has been cured, she is suddenly forced to face the long-term consequences of the “live in the moment” decisions she made, including marrying a total stranger. And if that’s not enough, she also finds out that her “perfect family” isn’t so perfect after all.

Turns out, because she was dying, everyone in her life hid their problems from her. But, now that she’s well, all bets are off.

Ian Harding Compares Lucy Hale To His Favorite Bird, The American Kestrel Falcon

Ian Harding Compares Lucy Hale To His Favorite Bird, The American Kestrel Falcon

Ian Harding and Lucy Hale have a very special relationship — so much that he says she reminds him of one of his favorite birds.

“It’s a thing called an American Kestrel and it’s one of my favorites,” Ian, who is promoting his new book, “Odd Birds”, shared in a recent interview. “It’s essentially this little bird of prey.”

He adds, “It’s actually red, white and blue and it’s so aesthetically pleasing. They can do all sorts of crazy feats that you wouldn’t think that they could — like fly backwards, and stuff like that — but they can also fight off things, like, twice their size.”

“So that’s appropriate for Lucy. Compact, adorable, beautiful, but also occasionally violent.”

Awww, that’s actually kind of sweet.

Lucy Hale Always Knew Ezra & Aria Were Meant to Be on 'Pretty Little Liars'

Lucy Hale Always Knew Ezra & Aria Were Meant to Be on 'Pretty Little Liars'

Lucy Hale is a true Ezria shipper.

The Pretty Little Liars actress always knew the OG couple was meant to be on the hit Freeform show.

“I was always rooting for them,” she dished to Elle magazine. “I know it was always a taboo relationship and some people looked down on it, and it wasn’t a traditional relationship. But I always saw the pureness behind it, and they really genuinely care about each other.”

Lucy adds, “They’ve gone through every situation that should rip a couple apart and they’ve stayed together.”

“They’re definitely soul mates.”

Speaking of Ezra, and his portrayer Ian Harding, Lucy also spoke about his new book, “Odd Birds” ahead of joining him at his book signing last night.

“I’ve heard a lot about it, and he has different chapters where he talks about everyone,” she shared. “I’m a little nervous. But he let us know that it isn’t a gossip book. I’m very curious to read it. I’m really proud of him. I’m happy for him for trying something new.”

Lucy Hale On 'Pretty Little Liars's Impact: 'The Show Is Exactly What The World Needed'

Lucy Hale On 'Pretty Little Liars's Impact: 'The Show Is Exactly What The World Needed'

Lucy Hale knows exactly how much Pretty Little Liars meant to fans everywhere.

She’s seen the tweets, the Instagrams, the confessions of how the show pulled some through tough times.

“I’ve had people who’ve come up to me and said, ‘I had Stage 4 cancer, and your show was the thing that got me through,’” she says. “Things like that — I know our show didn’t save them, but it’s things like that that shows it goes beyond just being a soapy teen drama.”

“You can go ask any of the fans, and they would give you a different reason for why it’s so important to them.”

Lucy continues, saying that the show was more than just about teen girls.

“I think that anyone who says that shows like this don’t matter are very wrong. The people who say that obviously haven’t watched [PLL], because it’s not a show about teen girls,” she shared. “It’s a show about friendship, and aside from the mystery and the drama of it all, the core is about friendship and [how] life is sh*t sometimes, and things are thrown at you. I just really love how the girls have stuck by each other.”

Lucy adds, “The show is exactly what the world needed at that time, for the people that watch it.”

The 'Pretty Little Liars' Cast Reflects on the Show's Social Media Impact

The 'Pretty Little Liars' Cast Reflects on the Show's Social Media Impact

Even the stars of Pretty Little Liars didn’t realize how big social media would come into play with the series.

Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell, and Lucy Hale recently opened up to Vulture about the impact it had on the show – and vice-versa.

“All of the stars aligned, and it was the right time for social media and our show,” Lucy said.

Shay added, “I didn’t even know what Twitter was when we started.”

“Younger kids were watching it, and their parents were monitoring it,” Sasha said. “And then they loved it and it became a family thing, which is so unusual that teens would watch it with their parents. Who wants to watch Gossip Girl with their mom? Even though it happened, it wasn’t a norm.”

“It’s very cool to see, even how television has evolved. You know the Nielsen ratings system? With the Nielsen box? They realized it wasn’t an accurate portrayal of the viewership of certain shows, our show included,” Troian explained. “They developed this whole new rating system based on tweets to track how popular a show was. They looked at social media and hashtag interactions, and our show was consistently number one, it was crazy. It was interesting because for a long time, I remember going to work the next day and asking our producers, ‘What were our numbers last night?’ And they would respond, ‘We could give you the numbers, but they really don’t matter.’ Even though this many people tuned in live, there were 200 million tweets.”

Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesday nights @ 8/7c on Freeform.

This is How the 'Pretty Little Liars' Cast Found Out Who 'Ultimate A' Was

This is How the 'Pretty Little Liars' Cast Found Out Who 'Ultimate A' Was

The stars of Pretty Little Liars all found out about who “Ultimate A” was in different ways.

Here’s how the girls found out, according to their new interview with Vulture:

Sasha Pieterse: “We all got little hints along the way. I think we all found out in our own ways. In the end, it was a huge shocker.”

Lucy Hale: “No one told me, and then I heard that an actor who never works on the show knew about it. Drew Van Acker knew about it! I’m like, ‘How did you know and I didn’t know?’”

Ashley Benson: “They were very tight-lipped about it, obviously, but I remember forcing it out of someone. We were on a late-night shoot and I was like, ‘Dude, you gotta f-cking tell me right now, because if you don’t tell me, I’m gonna go insane. Marlene [King]‘s not f-cking telling me, I wanna know.’ And then I got told and was like, ahhhhh! It was great…I was pissed that it wasn’t Hanna. [Winks.]

Troian Bellisario: “I was super nosy about it and I remember I cornered Marlene. I think Marlene might be slightly afraid of me. [Laughs.] Because it worked. I was like, ‘You’re gonna tell me, and you’re gonna tell me now.’ And it was a while ago. She was like, ‘Do you really wanna know?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, I really do.’”
