The event was held at the Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.
Kelsea took the stage and started singing her track “Peter Pan” before Lukas came out and went into some lines of his “7 Years” – the result was a magical country/pop mashup!
“Me and momma watched the Grammys every year growing up, and I remember being a thirteen year old starry-eyed wannabe country singer sitting on the couch next to her and saying if I ever got to go to the show, she’d be my date,” Kelsea shared on Instagram. “Tonight I got to dress up in the most beautiful dress I’ve ever worn with my beautiful momma, as a Grammy nominated artist and performer. I didn’t win the award, but trust me, I won. Thank you for one of the most beautiful moments and nights of my life @recordingacademy.”

Niall even opened up about his debut album more.
“I’m a little bit behind on time, but I didn’t want to put any time pressure on myself. I’ll just get it done when it’s done,” he said.

The 27-year-old lead singer and the rest of the group – Magnus Larsson, Kasper Daugaard, and Mark Falgren – chose to perform their hit “Mama Said” for their VMA debut.
The group was also nominated for Best New Artist at the award ceremony!
“Win or loose this is going to be epic! I mean we get to perform live music, which is what we advocate for so strongly :D” the band wrote on their Twitter.
