Variety reports that the cast and crew will not be working on the series in the wake of his death.
The television show has also shared a statement about Luke‘s untimely passing:
“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the ‘Riverdale,’ Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all.
“A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”

TMZ reports that his physicians had “sedated Luke, hoping to give his brain a fighting chance to recover from the trauma of the stroke … but apparently, the damage was too extensive.”
Sending lots of love and prayers to his family during this difficult time.
Just yesterday, we were all shocked to hear that Riverdale star Luke Perry had suffered a stroke.
The 52-year-old actor apparently suffered a “massive stroke” on Wednesday (February 27) in Los Angeles, and new reports had emerged that was sedated and not in a coma, as otherwise reported.
“Love you my brother,” Casey captioned on his Instagram with a pic of the both of them at the CW Upfronts a few years ago.
Hayley, who played Valerie on the series, added, “Luke Perry. I’m praying for you. Asking god to be with you and help you get through this🌹 to help you recover stronger♥️.”
The former Suite Life on Deck star spilled while stopping by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, in an episode that aired on Thursday (November 1).
The lesson Cole taught Luke? “When it’s appropriate to show a tasteful amount of nipple on social media.” (Answer: “All the time.”)
Cole also dished on how his return to acting after college came about, explaining, “My manager begged me to come out for pilot week, and I was doing photography and archeology and I said, ‘If I don’t get anything, I don’t think I’m going to come back,’ and then sure enough I booked Riverdale and it just sort of fell into place.”
Cole also revealed which Friends co-star he had a major crush on. Watch below to find out!

KJ Apa watches on as Lili Reinhart speaks at the Riverdale panel during New York Comic-Con at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (October 7) in New York City.
During the Riverdale panel, it was announced that we will get to meet Jughead’s mom and sister in season three!
Gina Gershon will play Jughead’s mother Gladys Jones, who runs the salvage yard (chop shop) that doubles as a Serpent compound, and the Serpents all snap to attention when she gives them an order. A Serpent with a GED, she acts as Fagin to a crew of teenaged car parts thieves.
Trinity Likins will play his sister Jellybean “JB” Jones, who is wise beyond her years, and her favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. Jellybean lives with her biker mom in Toledo where they run scams to make ends meet. And like mother like daughter: Jellybean — who goes by JB now — is quite the little con artist herself.
