Maddie Poppe stopped by Good Morning America for a very special reason!

The 20-year-old American Idol winner appeared on the show on Friday morning (November 16) in New York City.

During the program, Maddie helped announce the first contestant of the upcoming season of American Idol!

Meghan Woods was chosen by America after they saw her and two other aspiring singers perform on Dancing With The Stars the night before. Fans submitted their votes and now Meghan is heading straight to Hollywood when the show kicks off!

It was a big night for Maddie Poppe – she’s now a People’s Choice Award winner!

The 20-year-old singer was joined by boyfriend Caleb Lee Hutchinson while attending the 2018 Peoples’ Choice Awards on Sunday night (November 11) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Maddie won the award for Competition Contestant of 2018 after already winning American Idol earlier this year. She met Caleb on the show as fellow contestants.

Caleb joked on Instagram that night, “Just won the award for best non-invited Peoples Choice Award attendee!”

Maddie Poppe just debuted her music video for her newest single, “Keep On Movin’ On” and you’ll relate to it so much!

The 20-year-old recent American Idol champ opened up to Brit + Co about the visual, saying that she’s “always had a love for theatrics, and we wanted to portray a story in the video.

“When they pitched the idea for a single, continuous shot for the music video, it was both challenging and exciting. There was a lot of pressure but I knew it would be worth it to see the end result.”

Maddie adds, “My interpretation [of the song] is to keep moving on from the things that hold you back in life. Whether that be people or events or past lifestyles, I think it’s important for people to get back up and keep moving on when the going gets tough.”

Ally Brooke and Maddie Poppe weren’t about to miss Hello Kitty‘s birthday party!

The two singers stepped out for Proactiv’s Celebration of the icon’s birthday, which double as the launch event for Proactiv and ULTA Beauty’s exclusive Hello Kitty Brush Kit on Thursday night (November 1) in Los Angeles.

Maddie Poppe performs during Brit + Co’s CreateGood event in New York City on Monday night (October 15).

The 20-year-old American Idol champion joined founder Brit Morin, among many others, for the event, which brought together an array of amazing women, who are all paving the way for change.

Just a few hours before, Maddie took to her Instagram to share a page from her personal journal about her American Idol audition from last year – just as auditions for the new season are underway.

“Found this in my diary from last year & I hope somewhere somebody auditioning for Idol this season is writing this exact thing in their journal not having any idea that a year from now all of their dreams will come true,” Maddie captioned.

Asher Angel had some of his closest friends in the audience at LA Family Day!

The 16-year-old singer and Andi Mack star got support from Peyton Elizabeth Lee and Sky Katz at the event on Saturday afternoon (October 6) at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The annual event to support the TJ Martell foundation was hosted by Meg Donnelly and also featured performances by Maddie Poppe and Cali Rodi.

Other attendees included Luke Mullen, Forever In Your Mind‘s Ricky Garcia, Ryan Ochoa, Zachary S. Williams, Modern Family‘s Jeremy Maguire and Mackenzie Hanesicsak.

In addition to amazing performances from Asher, Maddie and Cali, guests were treated to fun snacks like Halo Top ice cream and Sprinkles cupcakes…all while playing carnival games!

Proceeds from the event benefited TJ Martell foundation and their mission to fund innovative medical research to cure cancer.

Maddie Poppe is looking back on her first American Idol audition, exactly one year later as auditions for the new season kick off.

The reigning champ shared her cute story on Instagram this week with fans.

“8/29/17. A day that I never thought would change my entire life,” Maddie started. “Waiting for hours in line, intimidated by everyone around me, I never thought I could do it. Once again, I was preparing to hear the biggest NO in my life. I had it instilled in my mind that this was never going to work out.”

She continues, “If someone would have told me I had even a slight chance of winning the show I would have never believed it. I’m endlessly grateful for the producer who I owe so much to, who believed in me from the first time he saw me.”

“I think every day about how easy it would have been for him to say ‘thanks, try again next year’, but he saw something in me I’d always wished someone would see. For every ‘no’ I’d ever heard, or every time someone didn’t call me back, or every promise someone in this industry didn’t keep, or every time I wasn’t ‘up-to-par’ with someone’s expectations, little did I know all of those small, saddening but unimportant moments would lead up to this.”

Maddie adds, “This one, simple, ordinary ‘yes’ that would change my life forever. Thank you, @jridgard for giving me this opportunity, for getting the ball rolling, allowing me to start this incredible journey and for changing my life.”
