Maddie Ziegler is just as obsessed with dance shows as you are — especially with Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.

Last night before Jordan Fisher was crowned the winner, the former Dance Moms star, she was urging her own fans to vote on Instagram.

Now, speaking of SYTYCD, Maddie was addicted to the latest season of the show, which Lex Ishimoto won.

“I’m obsessed with that show,” she told JJJ exclusively in a recent interview. “I knew a lot of people who were on the show this season and I’ve very proud of Lex. He’s incredible. It was great.”

If you remember, Maddie was actually a judge on the Next Generation season last year — and would love for that to come back.

“I hope they do [do that version again]!” she says. “I did have fun getting to work with Nigel Lythgoe, Jason Derulo and Paula Abdul during that season. It was so fun.”

Maddie Ziegler Has More Ideas For Even More Fiction Books (Exclusive)

Just this week, Maddie Ziegler launched her first fiction book with “The Audition” — and she was really excited to be able to write it at such a young age.

“It was awesome to getting to write a fiction series,” the 15-year-old dancer and actress told JJJ in a recent interview. “I never thought that I’d get to write a book at all.”

She adds, “Getting to do ‘The Maddie Diaries’, which was a memoir, that was insane. That was already such a huge accomplishment for myself and then the publishing house came to me about the fiction series and that was incredible.”

Maddie says that after writing the first in her fiction series, she’s now thinking about other ideas for more books.

“There are plenty of books that I now see myself writing in the future and there are plenty of ideas for that, but for the first ones, it had to be about dance,” she shared. “Dance is my life.”

“I’ve done it since I was two-years-old and it is the thing I know the most. I’m very honored that I got this opportunity to write about dance.”

Maddie‘s “The Audition” is out now and available wherever books are sold.

Maddie Ziegler Doesn't Have Any Plans For Halloween This Year (Exclusive)

Maddie Ziegler Doesn't Have Any Plans For Halloween This Year (Exclusive)

Most of us had a Halloween party over the weekend to go to and leading up to the actual day, we’ll probably be handing out candy at doors — and that’s kind of true for Maddie Ziegler too.

While we saw on Instagram that she had a little fun event with her dance group, Maddie doesn’t actually have plans for Halloween night.

“I don’t think I’ll be doing anything at all,” she told us in our interview last week. “Unless my friends say that we’re going to do something, I’m not going to be doing anything.”

However, she doesn’t really see it as a problem: “If nothing happens and if I’m alone by myself at home, I’m going to just try out some Halloween makeup in my room and just try our different looks. And honestly, that would be a great time for me too. That satisfies me and makes me happy, and if that’s all I’ll be doing on Halloween, I’ll be happy.”

JJJ also chatted with Maddie about the culture shock between the Halloweens in Los Angeles versus the ones in her hometown of Pittsburgh.

“It’s definitely a culture shock,” she says. “When I trick-o-treated in LA that one year, it was all huge houses with haunted mansions and a big maze while in Pittsburgh, you just run up straight to the front door. It’s a lot different, and honestly, I do like both.”

Maddie Ziegler Wants To Go All The Way to Ohio For This Amazing Reason (Exclusive)

Maddie Ziegler Wants To Go All The Way to Ohio For This Amazing Reason (Exclusive)

Maddie Ziegler doesn’t get a ton of downtime, but when she does, she goes straight to the fun.

JJJ spoke with the dancer and actress last week about the ways she relaxes during her downtime and her most favorite things to do.

“I’m super busy all the time and I don’t really have a lot of free time at all,” she told us. “So, when I do, I love to just hang out with my friends and just be a normal 15-year-old and getting to do fun activities.”

Luckily, she had some downtime a few days earlier and go to “Kalahari, which is the largest water park in America. It’s indoors, amazing and family owned. I had the best time getting to go on water slides and there was an arcade, it just made me feel like a normal 15-year-old girl like I am.”

Speaking of water slides, Maddie even admitted that there’s one special waterslide in the Midwest that she’s dying to go to.

“There’s a water slide in Ohio called Stormchaser and I really want to go,” she confessed. “There’s actually a virtual reality, almost like a video game built into the water slide and you can use controllers while you’re on the slide.”

Maddie adds, “It’s the most genius idea and I would go all the way from LA to Ohio just for this slide. I think it’s amazing.”

So, what else does Maddie like to do when she has a day off?

“I love to just hang out with my friends and we love to go shopping,” she says. “We love to get our nails done, we love to paint and draw — well, that’s more my thing, but I convince them to do it with me a lot. We also love to watch movies and tv shows and catch up on the latest things together.”

“When I’m by myself, I’m usually in my room and what I’ll do is put my laptop on my vanity and play one of my favorite Netflix shows and do my makeup then too.”

Stay tuned for more from our interview with Maddie!
