Avan Jogia gets soaked from head-to-toe in this this new photo shoot to promote Caprica, a new TV series that acts as a prequel to Battlestar Galactica.

Creator Ronald D. Moore told the Winnepeg Sun of the series, “Caprica at its heart is really the story of the creation of the cylon and how the cylons were developed initially. It’s really the beginning of the end.”

An extended version of the pilot premiered exclusively on DVD and digital download earlier this week. In early 2010, the first season, composed of the two-hour pilot and 18 hour-long episodes, is expected to begin airing on Sci Fi Channel. To order it, visit SciFi.com/Caprica.

Magda Apanowicz steps out in style at PaleyFest09′s presentation of Battlestar Galactica/Caprica in Hollywood on Monday night (April 20).

The 23-year-old former Kyle XY actress recently chatted to the Winnepeg Sun about her upcoming SciFi series. Magda shared, “I just don’t explain it. I just say: ‘Watch it!’ I tried to tell them but it’s just so much. You’ve seen it. It’s a lot to explain. But, if you like that kind of genre, the sci-fi stuff, and, if you like human drama, then it’s your kind of show.

Magda plays Lacy Rand, a character who helps connect Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales to a virtual world that is the only place where their daughters live — as cyber representations — after a terrorist blows up a train and kills both girls. Spectacular‘s Avan Jogia also stars in the series.
