Mariah Bell Breaks Silence Over Eun Soo Lim & Figure Skating Slicing Situation

Mariah Bell Breaks Silence Over Eun Soo Lim & Figure Skating Slicing Situation

Mariah Bell has broken her silence over the scandal that broke during the 2019 ISU World Figure Skating Championships earlier this month.

It was reported that the 22-year-old Team USA skater has intentionally run into South Korea’s Eun Soo Lim during practice, and sliced her calf just before the competition.

Reports also suggested that Mariah had been constantly bullying the 16-year-old skater, with whom she shares a coach.

“As I told Eunsoo in Japan, the incident at practice was very unfortunate and I meant absolutely no harm,” Mariah wrote on Instagram in a new post. “Our training environment is professional and supportive, and I’ve never changed locker rooms or training times or anything like that.”

She added, “The comments that my friends, family and I received on social media were hateful and disturbing and hopefully this situation raises awareness and causes people to think twice before hitting ‘tweet’ or ‘post.’”

“I learned a lot about my inner strength last week, and I’m excited to continue to train in the lead up to Beijing in 2022.”

ISU Makes Statement Regarding Mariah Bell & Eun Soo Lim Situation During World Figure Skating Championships

You might have seen the reports that Team USA’s Mariah Bell purposely collided into Korea’s Eun Soo Lim during official practice, slicing the back of her calf with her skate blades.

Mariah, 22, has also been accused of bullying the young skater. The two share the same coach.

Now, the ISU has officially commented on the situation.

“The ISU has been made aware of a statement published on March 20 by All-That Sports, and subsequently by the Korea Skating Union on March 21 about an incident which happened between Ms. Mariah Bell and Ms. Eun Soo Lim, during their practice on March 20 at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships,” the release starts out.

The statement says that no formal complaint was placed about the incident, and “based on the evidence at hand at this point in time, which includes a video, there is no evidence that Ms. Bell intended any harm to Ms. Lim.”

“The ISU met with delegates from both USA and Korea and urged both parties to find an amicable solution. The ISU maintains that this remains the appropriate approach.”

Mariah and Eun Soo still have yet to make a statement on the incident.

The ladie’s free skate for the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships will take place on Sunday, March 24th, from Saitama, Japan.

There’s some drama brewing at the 2019 World Figure Skating Championships this week and it involves Team USA’s Mariah Bell and Korea’s Eun Soo Lim.

According to reports, it’s said that during the official rehearsal ahead of the Ladie’s Short Program, Mariah, 22, purposely collided into Eun Soo and sliced the back of her calf with her skate blades.

All That Sports, which manages Eun Soo, says that while the Korean skater was slowly skating on the edge of the rink after completing her turn, Mariah suddenly kicked her.

On top of that, the management company also says that Mariah, who trains with Eun Soo in California under the same coach, has been “continuously bullying” the 16-year-old during preparation championships.

Twitter has many opinions on the matter, and there are pictures of Mariah skating close to Eun Soo.

Neither skaters have commented on the accusations, and Mariah is currently being bullied by figure skating fans on social media.

Stay tuned for updates on the situation.
