The official trailer for the upcoming movie Flora & Ulysses was just released!
Newcomer Matilda Lawler is starring in the film as the title character Flora, based on the popular, award-winning book “Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures” by Kate DiCamillo.
The film centers on 10-year-old Flora, an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated. After rescuing a squirrel she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique superhero powers, which take them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora’s life–and her outlook–forever.
This marks the young actresses first studio project. She recently made her Broadway debut in The Ferryman and can be seen in the upcoming indie thriller The Block Island Sound.
Flora & Ulysses is based off the children’s novel Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo. It centers on the imaginative, creative and cynical 10-year-old Flora (Lawler), who could hardly predict that the little squirrel she saved from a tragic accident would be born anew and transformed into a superhero with the powers of strength, misspelled poetry and an uncanny knack for helping her and the lovable but broken people in her life become a family again.
