Looks like Matthew Lewis took over coming to Chicago for Tom Felton!

The 21-year-old actor showed up at the AMC River East Theatre to surprise some lucky midnight screening movie goers in Chicago on Thursday night (July 14).

“Had a sick night at Studio Paris in Chicago celebrating HP7P2 release. Shame I gotta get up at 7am! Let me know what you guys think. Ta x” Matt tweeted after his appearance and night out on the town.

Matt also ran into MTV to dish his most embarassing fan moment: “I had a terribly embarrassing moment in New York City. I was in Times Square with my friend Nick, and there was a big Harry Potter poster in Times Square. I was pointing out where I was on the poster. I said, ‘I’m just there next to Emma [Watson],’ and as I started pointing at the poster somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Excuse me, are you Matthew Lewis?’”

Matthew Lewis hits up New.Music.Live in Toronto on Tuesday evening (July 12).

The 21-year-old actor chilled out with hostess Phoebe Dykstra before posing for a few photos and then heading over to the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II at the Scotiabank Theatre.

Matt recently spoke with the Yorkshire Evening Post about having to wear a fat suit through most of the films.

“It just helps with the whole image of Neville. He’s not supposed to look like Brad Pitt, the character is described in the book as being very round-faced. But from the third film onwards they started sticking the fat suit on because I just grew up. I simply grew taller and thinned out. As for [bleaching] the teeth, it was something I’d always wanted to do but it would have meant me wearing a brace for two years, which I just couldn’t do,” he shared. “In fact Warner Brothers said if I put it off until we’d finished filming they’d pay for it – and they did. But they were always keen for me to look less than perfect.”

Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis light the way with their wands in this new still from Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Part II.

Daniel, 21, told Total Film Indonesia about who on set that he will miss the most, “I suppose the most important person to me on that sat was a man called Will Steggle, who was my dresser. He worked in costume and we got each other through the films, basically, because you’re there for then years and there are good days and bad days. There are some days when I’m like ‘oh my god, I’m tired’ but we’d gee each other up and we’d tell each other to stop complaining and get on with it. It’s great, we love each other. He’s awesome and he’s my best mate. So for my best memories, even though I can’t think of a specific one, he was probably there for all of them.”

Tom Felton squeezes Matthew Lewis tight inside the after party for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II held at American Museum of Natural History on Monday night (July 11) in New York City.

The two stars were joined by costar Rupert Grint as well as Sarah Hyland and Ariana Grande (also pictured below).

Matt, 21, tweeted about meeting Melissa Joan Hart on the carpet last night: “Defs got a picture with Sabrina the Teenage Witch last night. Yes mate.”

Tom, also pictured outside ABC Studios after he taped his appearance for Live with Regis and Kelly, tweeted, “had a great time last night! new york crowd you were amazing! so grateful!”

Matthew Lewis suits up sharp for the premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part II held at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday evening (July 11) in New York City.

The 21-year-old actor, who stars as Neville Longbottom in the film franchise, took MTV‘s challenge to test his American talk.

Along with Tom Felton and Rupert Grint, the three tested the waters to just how good their American English was. JJJ has to say — Matt‘s was on par!

Evanna Lynch and Matthew Lewis step out at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II held at Trafalgar Square on Thursday (July 7) in London.
