Kaya Scodelario Once Smashed a Glass On 'Maze Runner' Director Wes Ball - Find Out Why!

Kaya Scodelario steps out in a chic tie-up dress for the Karl Lagerfeld + Modelco Make Up Line Launch held at Hotel D’Evreux on Tuesday (May 15) in Paris, France.

In one of the bonus features on Maze Runner: The Death Cure‘s blu-ray, it was shown that the 26-year-old actress actually hit director Wes Ball over the head with a glass!

Turns out, Kaya was a little hesitant to do the same thing on Dylan O’Brien, so Wes stepped in.

Kaya was nervous about hitting anyone with the breakaway glass (It can actually cut you),” he explained.

“So I told her I’d do it first. Just taking one for the team.”

Kaya Scodelario Dishes On Teresa's [SPOILER] in 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure'

Kaya Scodelario Dishes On Teresa's [SPOILER] in 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure'

SPOILERS AHEAD – DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE MOVIE, OR DON’T WANT TO KNOW!

If you were one of the many who headed to the movies this weekend to watch Maze Runner: The Death Cure, you know that Kaya Scodelario‘s character, Teresa, falls to her death.

Speaking with Teen Vogue, Kaya opened up about wrapping up Teresa’s story and how she liked doing the stunt leading to it.

“I don’t think I’ve ever died on-screen before. I think it’s my first time,” she recalls. “I thought it was really cool. It was also, for me, a bit of a stunt.”

She continues, “Since having my baby, I was really nervous about whether I’d feel brave enough to do stuff like that anymore and I’m really glad I did, kinda overcame the fear of that. Getting to do a full drop, it was cool for me. [But] it looks so great, it was so well-coordinated.”

Kaya adds that Teresa’s death wrapped up everything for her in saying goodbye to the franchise as well.

“I think from a character point of view, a really nice way to tie it up,” she shared. “[Otherwise] you think, ‘Oh God, are they going to do another one? Is that why they’re still here?’ I really like that with Teresa, there is such a birth, a middle, and an ending to her. I really like that.”

'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' Ends 'Jumanji's Box Office Domination

'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' Ends 'Jumanji's Box Office Domination

Maze Runner: The Death Cure was the clear winner at the box office this weekend, ending Jumanji‘s non-stop reign as the number one film in theaters.

The movie, which stars Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, Kaya Scodelario, Dexter Darden, Rosa Salazar and Katherine McNamara, made $23.5 million and brought in a total of $62.6 million internationally.

The third and final installment in the Maze Runner series, based on James Dashner‘s dystopian young adult novels, still had the weakest opening of the three films.

The first opened to $32.5 million and the second to $30.3 million. Still, $23.5 million doesn’t sound bad to us!

As far as young adult dystopian film franchises go though…we still have to wait for final, final numbers before we can see if it did better than The Hunger Games ($2.968 billion) or Divergent ($765 million).

You Won't See This Important 'Maze Runner' Scene In The Movie

You Won't See This Important 'Maze Runner' Scene In The Movie

Maze Runner: The Death Cure is now in theaters, but there is one scene that you won’t see in the film.

The deleted scene is an intimate moment between Dylan O’Brien and Thomas Brodie-Sangster‘s characters Thomas and Newt, and fans of the book series are quite upset that it’s not included in the movie.

“This is such an important scene for newt and his whole character arc and his relationship to both thomas and minho, as a fan i feel kinda betrayed that they would leave it out of the finished film,” one fan wrote.

“This scene didn’t deserve to be deleted, that’s something really important in Newt’s story and they can’t just throw it away you know, it’s important to the person he is and to the relationship he had with Thomas (it shows how close they really are, y’know),” another fan said.

The 'Maze Runner' Cast Reveal If They Stalk Social Media For Fan Reviews of the Film

You ever head to social media before you go see a movie for reviews, just to see if it’s worth your while to even go? The stars of Maze Runner: The Death Cure do…and don’t.

Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Dexter Darden and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who are celebrating the release of the final movie in theaters today, all recently chatted Teen Vogue and admitted that some of them do go online to see fans’ reactions to the flick.

“I’m honestly scared of it,” Kaya, who plays Teresa, said.

Dexter definitely checks them out: “You get flooded with tweets and Instagram posts.”

“The Maze Runner fandom is definitely a thing. They love the books and they love the characters and they love the movies,” he adds. “Like Thomas said, try to go with differentiating the two. But the fans are so supportive and they’ve done nothing but show love for these movies and we hope that it continues for the third one.”

And one time, Dylan was sucked in by a really funny reaction to not the movie, but the trailer!

“I remember seeing some of the trailer reactions [on YouTube], those were super funny,” he says. “I watched one that Wes [Ball, director], I think, retweeted or something. And then it led me on this train of watching a bunch of them because they were cracking me up.”

Katherine McNamara Teases 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure': Fans Will 'Get Closure With The Characters'

Katherine McNamara Teases 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure': Fans Will 'Get Closure With The Characters'

Katherine McNamara is one more day away from seeing the final Maze Runner: The Death Cure in theaters and she’s opening up about saying goodbye to the franchise.

The actress, who stars as Sonya in the film, revealed that it was a “full-circle” moment for her coming back to the set.

“Seeing these guys again, and still, even after two years, feel like it was coming home and coming back together with family,” Katherine shared with Coveteur. “It was nice to kind of regroup and celebrate what everyone’s been doing.”

Katherine adds that with the third film, fans will “get closure with those characters.”

“Every single person in the cast has so many irons in the fire and so many exciting things coming from them, I just know it’s going to be one of those films I look back on in 30 years and [say], ‘Wow! Look at where all of us went from that project, and how cool that we all had that moment together, in such a beautiful place like South Africa!’”

In fact, she’s already planning for a reunion.

“There are always those projects that you see you now looking back on and go, ‘Oh my God! I had no idea those 10 people worked together! Their careers went in 10 different directions, and yet they were all amazingly successful!’”

Maze Runner: The Death Cure opens THIS Friday, January 26th.
