McKayla Maroney gets crowned by former Miss America 2009 Katie Stam Irk during the Miss America 2013 Press Conference held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon (January 9).
The 17-year-old Olympian is one of seven judges for this year’s competition and has been tweeted about all her adventures at the event.
“1st preliminary competition #done That much closer to picking your #MISSAMERICA Tune in for televised finals Sat on ABC,” she wrote.
McKayla added jokingly about the crown, “Katie let me borrow her Miss America crown.. I want my own.”
The 2013 Miss America Competition airs TOMORROW, January 12th @ 9PM ET/PT on ABC.
McKayla was just recently announced as one of the judges for the 2013 Miss America competition, which will air live on January 12th.
She’ll join Mary Hart, Sam Champion, Daymond John, fashion designer Bradley Bayou and former Miss America 2009 Katie Stam Irk for the annual event on ABC.

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough take center stage with the Fierce Five during their freestyle during the Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars final on Monday night (November 26).
“It was a gold medal performance,” judge Bruno Tonioli said after their performance. “Truly the crowning glory of a fantastic night.”
Shawn and Derek took home a 30/30 total points on their freestyle, but are in third overall.
“Wow wow wow !!!! What a night . So proud of Shawn . We danced all season for the fans and wanted to end the same way . Love you all,” Derek wrote afterwards.

McKayla Maroney grabs a warm cup of coffee to go while out in New York City on Wednesday morning (November 21).
Just the night before, the 16-year-old Olympic medalist joined teammates Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman at Bring It On The Musical on Broadway.
McKayla also spoke with Teen Vogue recently about continuing her acting career, after appearing on Hart of Dixie.
“Yes, definitely. I love it so much. It’s a full-time job, just like gymnastics. I’m in the gym eights hours a day, and it’s same as acting when you’re filming from the morning all the way to the night. It’s definitely something that I want to do more of in the future,” she shared.
Along with team mate Jordyn Wieber, the Fierce Five hit up the talk show to chat about the ending of the Kellogg’s Gymnastics Tour of Champions and their upcoming appearance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“Saying goodbye to everyone is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done… I’m gonna miss you all so much #family,” Jordyn tweeted about the tour ending. “Had the time of my life… Thank you to all the fans who saw our show and made our tour possible!”

McKayla, 16, stars as Tonya in the show, one of Rose’s (McKaley Miller) best friends.
In “Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me,” After Zoe (Bilson) treats the high school football team, she learns that Max (Nicholas Podany), who happens to be Rose’s (Miller) new crush, has become infatuated with her instead.
Eager to nip his crush in the bud, Zoe learns that Max is prone to overreacting to heartbreak and is encouraged by the town to wait until after the big game, as they are counting on him to win.
