Ever since Grace VanderWaal performed on the America’s Got Talent stage, she’s been constantly compared to Taylor Swift.
Even judge Simon Cowell called her the “next Taylor Swift” during his critique — but Grace is really over that at this point.
“I just want to say something that’s been bothering me for a while and it’s that I just want to be Grace!” she wrote on her Instagram with a little vid.
Grace adds, “Not Taylor swift or Melanie [Martinez] or anyone else that I’m compared to! I’m so grateful and take it as a HUGE compliment but I’m just trying to be me.”
If you want to see Melanie live in concert, you are in luck as she is about to embark on the Cry Baby Tour in less than two weeks. Go to MelanieMartinezMusic.com now for all of the dates.

We all had a lot of fun,” the 19-year-old singer shared to JJJ about the video.
In case you didn’t know, “Carousel” was featured in the trailer for American Horror Story: Freak Show and jumped to the Top 10 on iTunes upon the release of the trailer.
