Supergirl Is Tied Up in New Set Photos Featuring Melissa Benoist & More

Melissa Benoist is hard at work on the final season of her The CW series Supergirl!

The 32-year-old actress was seen tied up while filming an action-packed scene on Tuesday (March 30) in Vancouver, Canada.

Melissa, who plays the title character, was joined on set by co-stars Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Nicole Maines, and Jesse Rath.

In a new interview with EW, Melissa opened up about the one request she had when producers asked her how she wanted Kara Zor-El’s journey to end.

“They pitched it to me because they wanted to know if I had any input as to where I wanted to see Kara ending up at the end of the series,” she said. “I had one request, and it wasn’t even something they were thinking about doing. They pitched me the end, and it’s really lovely. It’s a great ending. I feel fantastic about it.”

'Superman & Lois' To Go Off Air This Month, 'Supergirl' Will Premiere In It's Place

Have no fear, Supergirl is here!

It was just revealed that Superman & Lois will be taking a bit of a break, starting after it’s upcoming fourth episode, Deadline reveals.

The freshman series is pausing it’s schedule due to previous production delays due to Coronavirus. It will return with new episodes on May 18th.

In it’s place, the sixth and final season of Supergirl will premiere it’s first batch of episodes on Tuesday, March 30th. Once Superman & Lois returns in May, Supergirl will take a break and air it’s final episodes later in the summer.

Superman & Lois has already had a huge impact after airing only two episodes. It was just revealed this week, just hours before episode two, that the series has been picked up for a season two. The first episode even broke streaming records for The CW!

If you missed them, we finally got the first look photos of Melissa Benoist on set of Supergirl for the final season.

Melissa Benoist is back to work on the set of Supergirl on Thursday (March 4) in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The 32-year-old actress was joined for scenes by her co-star David Harewood, who plays Martian Manhunter.

This is the first time we’ve seen Melissa out since she welcomed her first child, Huxley, last fall. Her pregnancy pushed back production on the series, and pushed back the premiere date, which has yet to be announced.

That day, David shared a selfie with Melissa, both masked up in between takes.

“Back to work. @melissabenoist #MartianManhunter,” he captioned the photo. Check it out below!

The Supergirl cast actually started working on the upcoming final season back in October, but this is the first time we’ve seen photos of them on set.

If you missed it, though Melissa will be stepping away from Supergirl, this actress has been cast as the character in an upcoming DC movie, making history. Melissa even sent her love and support for the casting!

Melissa Benoist is continuing working with Warner Bros!

It was just announced that the 32-year-old Supergirl star has inked an overall deal with the company, who also produces her CW show, and is launching her own production company, Deadline reveals.

Melissa will start up Three Rings Productions “to develop and produce original television shows, including comedies and dramas, for all platforms including HBO Max, third party streamers, cable networks and broadcast nets.”

“I’ve had a wonderfully supportive home at Warner Bros. for the last six years, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to put on a producer’s hat and continue working with them,” she said in a statement.

“I approach my work as an actor in search of that magic gut feeling you get when you know something is right,” she continued. “I plan on following those instincts as a producer, approaching each story with passion, playfulness, curiosity, a sure-footed step, and like all things worth taking a risk on, a hint of terror. I can’t wait to collaborate with new voices and find stories that hit the heart in that indefinable way.”

Melissa will star as Supergirl for a final sixth season, which is set to premiere midseason on The CW. No premiere date has been revealed as of yet.

The show was pushed back due to her welcoming her first child last fall.
