Miranda Sings Wants to Date Ben Platt & Star In 'Dear Evan Hansen'

Miranda Sings is looking for a new boyfriend… in Ben Platt!

The YouTube star posted a new video where she basically auditions for his role in the Broadway smash Dear Evan Hansen.

“I never seen the show, but I think Ben Platt should be my boyfriend,” Miranda says in the video. “So if I show Ben that I can play the part, then it will show him that he can take a break from the Broadway show, and then I can do it. And then we can both be Broadway stars and we can be dating. So Ben, this is for you.”

In case you didn’t know, The Real O’Neals actor Noah Galvin just took over the role of Evan Hansen from Ben on Broadway. Looks like Miranda might have to wait a little longer for her dream.

You can catch Miranda in her show Haters Back Off!, which is streaming season two now on Netflix!

We all know by now that being a professional vlogger isn’t just filming five minutes a day and uploading the video — it’s much more, and Colleen Ballinger can tell you all about it.

The digital creator behind Miranda Sings spoke to JJJ about the characters’ creation and just how much time she spends with Miranda every day.

“It’s a lot of hard work, but totally worth it,” she confesses.

Colleen adds, “I think people watch my videos and think that she only films for three minutes a day and it’s just a character for those three minutes, but in reality, Miranda is a huge part of my life.”

So how much time does Colleen really spend on Miranda? All the free time she has, is almost non-existent.

“If you ask any one of my family or friends if I ever took a break, they would laugh at you. It’s a 24/7 job,” she tells us before breaking down her film schedule.

“For me personally, I am a night owl and that’s when I’ll come up with my ideas and write out scripts for a few hours,” Colleen says. “Depending on what type of video it is, I’ll come up with that concept and shoot my videos in chunks.”

She continues, “On a typical Saturday, I’ll be shooting about three or four videos at once and edit it throughout the entire week and do the title, market it, put up the picture on social media, and all that stuff.”

“That is a full time job. But when I’m not working on that, I’m working on Haters Back Off, or the tour. I’m working non stop, but I love what I do.”

Haters Back Off season two is streaming now on Netflix.

Colleen Ballinger gives Kelly Ripa a tutorial in how to perfectly achieve the Miranda Sings look for Halloween on Live’s Halloween Special on Tuesday (October 31).

After leading both Kelly and Ryan in a spot-on tutorial, Colleen switched up her look to a throwback costume as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.

JJJ spoke with Colleen earlier about her Halloween traditions — and her favorite thing about the holiday is baking treats!

“I only really started celebrating Halloween recently. When I was younger, I wasn’t allowed to,” she told us. “We actually stayed in the house and turned off all the lights so we didn’t answer the door for trick to treaters. We just had to sit there and I would go to school the next day and see all my friends eating all their candy and I was so jealous!”

Now that she’s an adult, she embraces it all.

“I’ve been throwing parties and I really love making Halloween themed treats — like kitty litter cake and bloody bandaid cookies; just making gross, weird creations. That’s my favorite part.”

Colleen Ballinger Reveals How Miranda Sings Was Born on 'The Tonight Show'

Colleen Ballinger Reveals How Miranda Sings Was Born on 'The Tonight Show'

Colleen Ballinger is mostly known for her online personality, Miranda Sings, and she’s explaining just how Miranda came to life during her appearance on The Tonight Show.

“I was in college and imitating these girls I went to school with. I know, this sounds mean,” she confessed. “And it is.”

Colleen continued, “The girls I went to school with were snotty and rude and they were in my vocal performance classes…they just gave the worst advice and they thought they were so good. I just made these videos poking fun at them and posted them for my friends.”

While she didn’t think no one else besides her friends would see them, they did!

Colleen also reveals that her online haters inspired Miranda’s look, too.

“I would egg it on,” she laughed about the people complaining in the comments. “In each video if they said they didn’t like my lipstick I would make it bigger, if they didn’t like the way I was talking I would talk weirder. So the haters kind of created the weird character. Whatever they hated I would do it more.”

Colleen Ballinger Dishes on 'Haters Back Off' Season 2: 'Miranda Sings Gets In A Lot of Trouble'

Haters Back Off season 2 is finally here!

The brand new season is now on Netflix and you can watch Miranda Sings get into way more trouble than she can possibly handle.

“Miranda is going to be getting into crazier situations,” Colleen Ballinger told JJJ in a recent interview about the new season. “This season is so insane and she gets in a lot of trouble (laughs).”

She adds that, “for this season, we really tried to focus on the relationship between the characters and you get to see a lot of heart; and get to know all the characters even better.”

“I think it’s absolutely hysterical, so I’m hoping everyone laughs a lot while they’re watching it and gets to know these weird characters a lot better.

Colleen also opened up about being one of the lucky ones who got a second season on Netflix.

“There are days that I still can’t believe it,” she says. “I still have to pinch myself to realize that any of this has happened for Miranda. She was a crazy little girl character that I created almost 10 years ago and I never thought anything would happen from it.”

“This was just an inside joke with my friends and the fact that we’re going on a world tour again, I have a book and Netflix show, it’s insane,” Colleen adds. “I feel so, so lucky. I do feel like the luckiest girl in the world because this doesn’t happen to just anyone and I don’t know why it’s happening to me (laughs), but I feel very, very lucky.”

We are so excited that Colleen Ballinger is going out on tour again with Miranda Sings!

Just announced today, Colleen and Miranda will be trotting all around the globe on the “Miranda Sings…You’re Welcome.”

JJJ caught up with Colleen this week to chat about what she’s most excited about for this tour and obviously, it’s the fans!

“I love touring and it’s my favorite part of my job so I can’t wait to get back on the road,” she told us. “I’ve always trying to reinvent the show to make it more fun for the fans and this new tour, I have more bits and getting even crazier and crazier on stage,”

Colleen shares, “I’m trying to incorporate as much fan interaction as possible. My favorite part of it all is meeting them. I’m excited to get them on stage with me and perform with them and just make them all laugh.

She’s going to have bigger sets, too!

“I feel like every tour I go on, I interact with them more and more and I just have more crazy props and costumes and sets. This coming tour is going to be a lot bigger than anything I’ve done before,” she adds, dishing about how she even got new curtains for this tour.

“We just created some new curtains for the show. They’re these huge curtains that are for me to transform into Miranda. I transform into her on stage in front of the audience. So, we have some new fun curtains that we designed for that; for me to put the props behind and do funny bits behind there and do the pop through. They’re big and fun, and I’m excited to bring them on the road.”

Stay tuned to JJJ for more about her tour, Halloween and more!

Miranda Sings Sobs Over Jake Paul in Her Latest Video - Watch Now!

Miranda Sings Sobs Over Jake Paul in Her Latest Video - Watch Now!

Miranda Sings (Colleen Ballinger) is known for her hysterical Youtube videos, but today she uploaded one with a markedly different, more somber tone.

Except, of course, that it was all a joke! In the video, Miranda discovers who Youtuber and former Bizaardvark star Jake Paul is for the first time, and she cannot control her emotions: she wants to have more followers than him. She wants to know who he is. She wants to date him. She has so many questions!

“I don’t understand! I’m just so confused!” she sobs in the video, “Who the heck is Jake Paul and why is he so popular?”

Jake has been in the news a lot lately for his controversial behavior, so it’s nice to know that he has a fan (and possibly a wife) in fictional character Miranda.
