The beauty queen showed off a chic look at the 2016 Best Buddies Gala with Nolan Gould and her fellow title holders Miss Florida 2016 Linette De Los Santon, Miss USA Deshauna Barber, and Miss Florida Teen 2016 Victoria DiSorbo.
Karlie picked out a champagne colored, two piece ensemble from Sherri Hill and it’s possibly the perfect style!

Miss Teen USA 2016 Karlie Hay is all smiles during her new photo shoot held in New York City this week.
The newest beauty queen and activist shared some videos from her shoot on Instagram and Facebook. You can see them all below!
Karlie also met up with Miss USA Deshauna Barber and Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. “First time we’re all together in NYC at the same time!” Karlie captioned the image on Instagram.
She also joined Deshauna at the Army Football Game over the weekend: “No better way to watch an army football game than with the army queen herself. ???? #GoWestpoint #ArmyStrong.”

Karlie Hay makes her way out of the ABC Studios in New York City on Tuesday (August 2).
The 18-year-old new Miss Teen USA made her first television appearance after winning the crown and after being at the center of a controversy. Tweets from 2013 surfaced just after Karlie was crowned of her using the N-word with her friends.
“I am very sorry. It’s embarrassing. It’s something I’m ashamed of and I’ve grown up from that 15-year-old girl who used that type of language,” she shared on Good Morning America. “At that age, I was being a follower. I was trying to fit in with my friends. The word was thrown around in the music I listened to, with the friends I hung out with and I had no guidance so it was kind of a careless mistake.”
Karlie added, “When the tweet got brought back up I was just like kind of embarrassed, ashamed, and just amazed that I actually at one point in my life thought it was okay to use that word because it’s never okay.”
Despite the backlash, the Miss Universe Organization will let Karlie keep her crown.

The 16-year-old Miss Teen USA 2015 crowned the new queen along with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber.
After the competition was over, Katherine posted a sweet goodbye message on her personal Instagram.
“Anddddd just like that, I’m a now a former Miss Teen USA!” she wrote. “A huge congrats to @karlie_hay for capturing the title!”
Katherine added, “My year was indescribable! I made so many memories that will last a lifetime and grew so much as a person! Now… I’m ready to conquer the next chapter of my life! Stay tuned to see what’s next, it’s exciting.”

Karlie Hay, who was crowned Miss Teen USA 2016, has publicly apologized for vulgar language she has used in the past.
The 18-year-old reigning queen and Miss Texas Teen 2016, has issued a formal apology on the Miss Texas Teen handle.
“Several years ago, I had many personal struggles and found myself in a place that is not representative of who I am as a person. I admit that I have used language publicly in the past which I am not proud of and that there is no excuse for,” Karlie writes.
She added, “Through hard work, education and thanks in large part to the sisterhood that I have come to know through pageants, I am proud to say that I am today a better person. I am honored to hold this title and I will use this platform to promote the values of The Miss Universe Organization, and my own, that recognize the confidence, beauty and perseverance of all women.”
Karlie was crowned Miss Teen USA 2016 on Saturday night (July 30), with Miss North Carolina Teen Emily Wakeman as the runner up.

Miss Teen USA 2015 Katherine Haik took the stage once again for her final walk before passing on the crown to the new Miss Teen USA 2016.
The top 5 semi-finalists were Miss Alabama Teen Erin Snow, Miss Nevada Teen Carissa Morrow, Miss North Carolina Teen Emily Wakeman, Miss South Carolina Teen Marley Stokes, and Miss Texas Teen Karlie Hay.

Miss Teen USA 2015 Katherine Haik gets a hug from Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan on the press line at the 2016 Miss Teen USA Pageant at The Venetian Las Vegas on Saturday night (July 30) in Las Vegas.
The 16-year-old reigning queen met up with Olivia, who is hosting the event with Cody Johns, as well as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber, and singer Nick Fradiani.
“At the beginning of my year, I decided to devote my year to working with children and adults with special needs! Throughout this year I’ve gotten to work with the most amazing organizations & do the most heart warming events!” Katherine wrote ahead of the festivities this weekend.
She added, “This picture is from the Night to Shine Prom which is an event that gives special needs children a wonderful prom experience! I have also gotten to work with Best Buddies, Arc Gateway, and the Special Olympics during my year! I hope I impacted the lives of the people that I have met at these events as much as they have impacted my life.”
