Taylor Swift's Music Catalog Makes Bank on Streaming Services

Taylor Swift's Music Catalog Makes Bank on Streaming Services

It turns out Taylor Swift‘s choice to put her back catalog of songs on streaming services was a pretty good one!

The 27-year-old “Blank Space” singer made a lot of money by putting all of her music on Spotify, Pandora, Tidal and Amazon on June 8, in celebration of 10 million albums sold for 1989.

Taylor‘s streams totaled 47.5 million in the U.S. last week, according to Nielsen Music, which is an increase of 551 percent from the previous week. Wow!

In total, she made about 329,000 in revenue, according to Billboard, in addition to $59,000 in publishing royalties – bringing the U.S. total to about $397,000. Get it, girl.

Lorde Dishes On New Song 'Writer In The Dark': 'This Was The Last Song To Make It on The Album'

Lorde Dishes On New Song 'Writer In The Dark': 'This Was The Last Song To Make It on The Album'

JJJ is pretty much obsessed with Lorde‘s brand new album, Melodrama, but we’re really obsessed with one song in particular — “Writer in the Dark”.

During her performance and interview with Beats 1, the singer/songwriter opened up about writing this song and the story behind it.

“This was the last song to make it on the record,” she revealed. “[It's] Another one where I felt I was speaking to someone or closing a door.”

“It’s interesting when you’re female and you write this confessional, painfully honest music about your life. There’s a lot of guilt associated with that. Am I a terrible person for harvesting my personal life for this? This song was my way of going actually ‘no it’s not my fault. This is what happens when you kiss a writer in the dark. They’re gonna write songs about you.’ This was my way of saying ‘I love you but I love this more.’”

Lorde adds about the production side, “This song came together so quickly I was sitting at the piano by myself at Electric Lady. Shout out to Lee, Tom Elmhurst, Barry our engineer, such a great place…I feel so musical in the best way.”

“Some studios I feel like is this just a conference room with a mic in it. I came up with this piano part by myself and the song grew. Jack [Antonoff] came in and moved a few parts around, told me to repeat a part, and it was done. This is basically the demo.”

Liam Payne & Louis Tomlinson Reunite for Grenfell Charity Single - Listen Now!

Simon Cowell‘s charity single for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in London, England has been released, and there’s so many amazing artists on the track.

Two of the artists featured are One Direction‘s Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

“For all of us who live in the vicinity, we have the ability to do something and that’s what I’m hoping will happen with the record is that it pricks a few people’s consciousness and then other people decide to do something else… I think it is the right thing to do,” Simon said on Good Morning Britain after the tragedy, which has killed at least 79 people.

You can donate here and buy the song on iTunes here.

Nia: Thank you! I’m throwing a really big party at Bucca Di Beppo and Mixology! There will be dinner, dancing, henna, a candy bar, a caricaturist, performers…so excited.

JJJ: This is your 16th birthday. Did you imagine having a huge Sweet 16 party when you were younger?

Nia: I always dreamt of turning 16 when i was younger so i could finally drive… but I don’t think I could have imagined a party like the one I’m having.

JJJ: What’s the best gift you’ve ever gotten for your birthday?

Nia: That is a tough question!! I have received so many cool presents over the years, but I think one of my most memorable gifts was my dog, Henry Rhinestone!! I got Henry on my 11th birthday and it was a huge surprise from my parents and my friends on Dance Moms.

Niall Horan Says Collaborating With the One Direction Guys Would Be 'A Bit Weird'

Niall Horan Says Collaborating With the One Direction Guys Would Be 'A Bit Weird'

Don’t expect Niall Horan to get into the studio with his former bandmates anytime soon.

The 23-year-old singer, who is enjoying the success of his solo music right now, has some collaboration ideas – but none of them involve the One Direction guys.

“I have a couple of songs that could potentially be something like that,” Niall told ET Canada. “I can get to play some stuff to people and see what happens, but the whole idea of a collaboration, you know, it’s great – because like, I don’t think there’s a lot of it going on in our world anyway. Not as much as there should be.”

“Can’t rule anything out really, can you?” Niall said about working with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, or Louis Tomlinson. “I suppose right now, it would be a bit weird.”

As for his album coming out, he said, “I’m thinking October, November time. There’s a lot of stuff going on at the minute, promo-wise around the world. Performing things down in Australia, and it’s all crazy at the minute. So when I get time to stop that – or when that stops – I’ll then release it. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Max Ehrich & David Lambert Team Up For Beautiful 'Let It Be' Cover - Watch Now!

We love when two amazing talents come together.

Sweet/Vicious actor Max Ehrich teamed up with his pal, The Fosters star David Lambert, for a killer rendition of The Beatles classic “Let It Be.”

While both guys are great actors, they also have really beautiful voices too! Not to mention, David also shows off his piano skills in the cover video.

David and I have become close friends and have wanted to artistically collaborate for a while now. It was a genuinely great vibe,” Max told JustJaredJr.com.

“We chose ‘Let It Be’ because it’s one of our favorite songs by my favorite band The Beatles,” he said. “It just organically felt right. During this time we are currently living in, we hope it can spread some light and love.”
