Nat Wolff may be the star of new animated film Leap! but he’s never actually met his co-stars!

The 22-year-old actor opened up about his experience working on the movie while appearing on the Build Series on Friday afternoon (September 1) in New York City.

“I was excited to meet them, but I have not met any of these people on the poster,” Nat explained, referencing his co-stars like Carly Rae Jepsen.

“Except for Elle, but that had nothing to do with the movie!”

Nat also explained that he recorded his lines in a dark vocal booth, so he couldn’t even see the audio engineer!

He added, “But it sort of made it exciting for me because I sort of got to let loose and be way over the top!”

We are getting so much closer to the release date for Nat Wolff and Margaret Qualley‘s upcoming movie Death Note, which will be available for streaming on Netflix on August 25.

The film is based on the famous Japanese manga in which a young man, intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook, begins killing those he deems unworthy of life.

Nat and Margaret got all dressed up to attend a special screening of the movie on Thursday (August 17) at AMC Loews Lincoln Square in New York City.

The young co-stars were joined by fellow cast members Lakeith Stanfield, Willem Dafoe, Paul Nakauchi, Shea Wingham, and Masi Oka.

FYI: Margaret is wearing a Dior multicolor embroidered bustier dress and Malone Souliers shoes. Nat is wearing Dolce&Gabbana. Lakeith is wearing a Merlin Castell and Cosmo and Nathalia outfit.

Nat Wolff is spilling on how he prepped for his highly anticipated animated movie Leap!

In the film, the Paper Towns star lends his voice to the character Victor, a “lovable goofball” who helps an orphan girl as she runs away to Paris and chases her ballerina dreams.

“My preparation for this role is, I spent six months in an orphanage,” Nat said in Just Jared‘s exclusive behind-the-scenes video. “No, I’m just kidding.”

“I’d never done an animated film before,” he continued. “So I watched some of my favorite animated movies from when I was a kid, like the three Toy Story movies that I love, Finding Nemo, and Cars … just cause I wanted to get into that world. It is definitely a different animal, and I learned a lot going through the process.”

Leap! also stars Elle Fanning, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maddie Ziegler, and more.

Margaret Qualley and Nat Wolff are pumped about their upcoming Netflix flick Death Note!

The Leftovers actress and the Paper Towns actor teamed up at SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Channel Broadcasts at Hard Rock Hotel during 2017 Comic-Con on Thursday (July 20) in San Diego, Calif.

They were joined by their co-stars Lakeith Stanfield and Masi Oka, as well as director Adam Wingard.

Nat and Margaret also spoke on stage during the film’s panel along with Lakeith and producer Roy Lee.

According to Variety, Death Note follows “a student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone simply by writing the victim’s name. A cat-and-mouse game ensues when he’s tracked by a reclusive police officer.”

Maddie Ziegler has some cute fun with her fashion look at the Kids’ Choice Awards.

The author and actress took a little break from her book signing tour and joined her Leap co-star Nat Wolff at the show, where they debuted a brand new trailer for the animated film.

Nat Wolff looks really sharp at the premiere of his new movie, In Dubious Battle.

The actor met up with his castmates — Ashley Greene, James Franco, and Ahna O’Reilly — for the premiere in Hollywood last night (February 15).

Definitely absent from the event was Selena Gomez, who stars as Lisa in the flick.

The movie centers on an activist, who gets caught up in the labor movement for farm workers in California during the 1930s.
