Tyler Blackburn & 'The Originals' Alum Nathan Parsons Join The CW's 'Roswell' Reboot

We’re starting to think that Tyler Blackburn has a thing for R-named towns, because he just joined Roswell!

The former Pretty Little Liars and Ravenswood actor has joined the CW reboot, along with Nathan Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, and Heather Hemmens, THR reports.

The pilot revolves around the daughter (Jeanine Mason) of undocumented immigrants who, after reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life.

She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

Nathan Parsons Opens Up About Jackson's Shocking Fate on 'The Originals'

Nathan Parsons Opens Up About Jackson's Shocking Fate on 'The Originals'

Nathan Parsons is talking about his character’s – SPOILER ALERT! – shocking death on last week’s episode of The Originals.

The 27-year-old actor revealed what it was like filming his death scene and the speech Phoebe Tonkin‘s character Hayley gave his lifeless body.

“That entire day was really intense, and Phoebe did an incredible job of staying with it, staying in it — and hearing her talk and I could tell she was — I couldn’t see her, but I could tell she was crying,” Nathan told Access Hollywood. “[The speech] was beautiful to listen to and every now and then I would sneak a little glance over if I didn’t think they were looking at me, just because I mean, she’s incredible. I think she killed it in that scene.”

Phoebe told ET, “It was really sad! I love Nathan Parsons so much and I love the relationship with Hayley and Jackson. It was just so sweet and very human. They gave him an epic death, which is all you could want if you’re going to die on a show like this. An epic, epic, dark, bloody death, so I’m glad he got that, but yeah it’s sad. It’s sad when any kind of character leaves on these shows. We spend so much time together so it’s like we’re losing a buddy.”

'The Originals' Interview: Nathan Parsons on Jackson's Deal with Klaus & Future with Hayley

'The Originals' Interview: Nathan Parsons on Jackson's Deal with Klaus & Future with Hayley

With each faction trying to strengthen its authority under this seemingly ill-fated treaty, things are only beginning to heat up in the French Quarter on The Originals.

While the witches are tapping into their ancestry, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is off working with Thierry (Callard Harris) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) attempts to restore his home to its former glory.

Meanwhile, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has his own plan at play, temporarily teaming up with Jackson (Nathan Parsons) to find out more about his family line and give the pack more power than ever.

JJJ caught up with Nathan to talk about Jackson’s alliance with Klaus, his relationship with Hayley, and more. Check it!

The Originals airs TONIGHT @ 8PM on The CW! Jackson has aligned himself with Klaus, at least for the time being, to serve both their interests. How far is Jackson willing to take this?

Nathan Parsons: Jackson will only do something if it’s right for his pact. He’s not afraid of dying, and to become a werewolf you have to kill someone, so they’ve all done that. There’s a line and a boundary, and that moves a little further in their situation because of everything they’ve been through and Marcel has done to them over the years. The line has been really pulled back there, so what Jackson is going to do is really whatever it takes. At this point, they’re out in the Bayou. It’s not healthy, it’s not safe, there are kids out there being raised in shacks and in tents in the swamp. These are kids are nephews of Jackson. This is his family and his life, so to have the opportunity to move all of that to New Orleans where he feels they belong, who knows how far he’s willing to go. I think he’ll do pretty much anything.

JJJ: Does he really trust that Klaus will hold up his side of the bargain? Jackson knows he has his own agenda, for sure.

NP: I think Klaus is only always going to have his own motive. You can never trust him. You can never trust a vampire in general. On the one hand, the pack could protect his child. But is this just another ploy for Klaus to get more power? Does he want to create a werewolf army now? I don’t think Jackson would be willing to let his people get turned into machines. But he is offering something pretty powerful and maybe we’ll play along for a little bit, but if he wants to use us that way, to become some half-crazed army, then no. I think that’s going to be a big pot of contention if that is the case.

Debuting in episode 14 (airing on February 4), Nathan will play Jackson, a werewolf friend of Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin), who has an “underlying ruggedness of a werewolf raised in the Bayou, but he’s magnetic, smart and strong-willed — the natural trusted leader of his pack.”

You may remember Nathan as Godot on the short-lived ABC Family series Bunheads.

The Originals airs every Tuesday night @ 8PM on The CW.
