This Is What's New On Netflix In July 2020

Netflix is getting ready to add a bunch of movies and TV shows to it’s service!

The streaming platform has revealed it’s list of titles that are coming in July.

One of the major, anticipated additions is the sequel The Kissing Booth 2, starring Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi. The movie will premiere on July 24th.

It was also just announced that part 2 of The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia will be out towards the end of the month.

Other titles to look forward to include Katherine Langford‘s new show Cursed, season two of Umbrella Academy, the animated flick Animal Crackers, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, and the all new series The Baby-Sitters Club!

'Chicken Run' To Get Sequel 20 Years After Original Movie Premiered

Chicken Run is getting a sequel for Netflix!

The studio that made the original movie revealed the news on it’s 20 year anniversary, June 23rd.

“Fans around the world have waited patiently for a sequel idea worthy of Chicken Run so we’re delighted to announce, on the 20th anniversary, that we’ve found the perfect story,” Peter Lord, Aardman Co-Founder and Creative Director, said in a statement. “Netflix feels like the ideal creative partner for this project too: they celebrate the film-maker, which means we can make the film we want to make – the one we really care about – and share it with a global audience.”

Netflix UK also confirmed the news in a tweet, “POULTRY NEWS: Exactly 20 years to the day since the original was released, we can confirm there will be a Chicken Run sequel coming to Netflix!! Produced by @aardman, production is expected to begin next year. Eggsellent.”

Here’s a synopsis for the sequel: Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete.

But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk – this time, they’re breaking in!

You can currently watch the original Chicken Run movie for free with your Hulu subscription!

The sequel will go into production in 2021 and be released by Netflix.

These Movies & TV Shows Are Leaving Netflix in July 2020

July is coming up and that means a revolving door of titles coming and going on Netflix!

The streaming service has revealed the list of TV shows and movies that will be removed starting NEXT Wednesday (July 1).

Some of the titles you won’t be able to watch on Netflix anymore include The Polar Express, Stuart Little 2, Center Stage, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Julie & Julia.

Race to Witch Mountain, starring Dwayne Johnson, Alexander Ludwig, and AnnaSophia Robb, Incredibles 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story will be moving from Netflix to Disney+ in July. Ant-Man and the Wasp will also be moving to Disney+ in August.

The Fosters will be leaving Netflix on July 6th. It will then likely move over to Hulu at a future date, along with much of the other Freeform shows.

Kristen Stewart Stars In New Short Film For Netflix's 'Homemade' Collection

Kristen Stewart is starring in a new short film!

The 30-year-old actress filmed the short while in isolation and teamed up with director Pablo Larrain for the Netflix collection of short films, titled Homemade.

Homemade is a collection of short films created by celebrated filmmakers around the world. Confined at home as a consequence of the COVID-19 outbreak, filmmakers created personal, moving stories that capture our shared experience of life in quarantine.

The collection is a celebration of the craftsmanship of filmmaking and the enduring power of creativity in the face of a global pandemic.

Kristen and Pablo will also be working on a new film together, where she will take on the role of the late Princess Diana. Find out more about their film here!

'The Baby-Sitters Club' Is Back With An All New Series On Netflix - Watch the Trailer!

The Baby-Sitters Club is back in business for a whole new generation!

The popular book series by Ann M. Martin brings together inspiring young girls with different backgrounds, personalities and opinions that were brought together by a business venture they conceived and bonded through the friendships they forged.

The new show is of course based on the best-selling book series, and follows the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary-Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez) as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut.

Alicia Silverstone also stars in the series as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the selfless single-mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of all around good guy Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein.

The Baby-Sitters Club premieres NEXT Friday, July 3rd, on Netflix!

    Katherine Langford's 'Cursed' Announces Release Date & Teaser Trailer!

    Katherine Langford‘s upcoming new series Cursed has been given a release date!

    The upcoming show will premiere on Netflix on Friday, July 17th.

    In addition to the release date announcement, the streaming service also debuted a new teaser trailer!

    Cursed is a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue (Langford), a young woman with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake.

    After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a humble mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword.

    Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.
