Tonight’s the night!

Not only do we get blessed with the mid-season premiere of Switched At Birth, but JJJ‘s new fave, Jane By Design debuts on ABC Family!

“I wanted it to be Molly Ringwald and Ducky [Jon Cryer],” show creator April Blair tells THR of Jane and Billy’s relationship. “There were no guidelines, I went with what worked for the story. I definitely tried to, in the high school world and the work world, create parallels. There’s a mean girl in high school and the one at work, the cute boy in high school and the one at work.”

She continued, “The struggles Jane (Erica Dasher) has in high school, that helps her deal with the mean girl at work. It’s done in a microcosm of her living in those two worlds at the same time.”

Torn between her love of fashion and the need to finish high school, Jane conceals her true age to assist the demanding, but talented Gray Chandler Murray (Andie MacDowell), who travels the world in search of the next big style trend.

Erica Dasher keeps close to costar Nick Roux as they attend the 2011 ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas Winter Wonderland event at Rockefeller Center on Sunday afternoon (December 4) in New York City.

The two star in the upcoming Jane By Design — which premieres on January 3rd @ 9PM ET/PT on ABC Family.

But with help from her best friend Billy Nutter (Nick Roux), Jane tries to keep up appearances as she toggles between two lives and guard her secret. Even with Billy’s support, will Jane’s ruse be a passing fad, or will she be able to fashion a career in the design business?
