We could not think of a better partnership than Nikki Yanofsky and da lish cosmetics.
The company chose the 22-year-old jazz singer as their lead ambassador and got her to dish on her beauty advice.
“My fav tip has been that makeup should enhance your natural beauty, not change you into something you’re not,” Nikki shared. “Sure, it’s fun to experiment, but I love the “less is more” approach… which is exactly why I love da lish!”
She added about her favorite product of the cosmetic line, “I LOVE the highlighter because it makes me feel all glowy and effortless. It’s so easy to apply and enhances what you already have instead of covering up!”
Nikki Yanofsky sits for a nature pretty picture in the latest issue of NKD magazine, available online now!
The 20-year-old Canadian singer opened up to the mag about being bullied and overcoming obstacles in the jazz world. Check it:
On her childhood: “The biggest challenge in school was just like, I got bullied a bit through elementary school and high school, but I sort of ignored it.”
On the music industry: There’s like the people in jazz that are really supportive of the up-and-comers that are trying to keep that music alive and there are the people that are kind of like oh you haven’t lived enough to sing that that song.”
On genres: “To me, jazz is so timeless. It’s just one of the few genres of music that just encourages you to be free. There’s no rules in jazz.”

Nikki Yanofsky takes in some beach scenery while recording her cover of The Beatles‘ “Oh! Darling” in Venice Beach, Calif.
“I’m a huge fan of The Beatles. Like a huge, huge fan,” the 19-year-old Canadian singer shared with ELLE mag. “And I think that song is just like a classic blues song. It really walks the line of what I do—singing bluesy and jazzy songs.
She adds, “I thought it would be a really cool song to re-do, especially from a girl’s perspective. Because Paul McCartney, when he sang it, he sounded almost so desperate that I wanted to get the girl’s side of things.”
Nikki also shared about her new album, out on October 7th in the US, “I feel like I’ve grown a lot as a person since my first record. I recorded it from ages 14-16. In those four years since then, I feel like I did a lot of self-discovery. It’s a never-ending process. But my main goal is to be happy. I want to just put out something that I feel represents me. Just keep chasing the good music.”
