Noah Centineo Dishes On Stepping Back Into Jesus' Shoes For 'Good Trouble' Appearance

Noah Centineo will be returning for The Fosters‘ spinoff series, Good Trouble‘s, debut on Freeform next year and he’s opening up about stepping back into Jesus’ shoes.

Speaking with Seventeen, the 22-year-old actor opened up about how Jesus has changed from the end of The Fosters to now.

“He’s definitely older,” he stated. “What I like about it is that the relationships among the characters are now far more a portrayal and a parallel for the relationship of the people [acting them].”

Noah continues, “We’ve all been around each other for so long and we know each other by now. And it’s similar with the characters like, at one point, when a sibling might’ve been upset with another sibling because of something they did, after, 20 years or 22 years of it, you’re like, ‘ah, that’s just the way they are,’ and it doesn’t bother you so much.”

He also talked about reuniting with Cierra Ramirez and Maia Mitchell on the show. what it felt like going back on set and seeing everyone again.

“It was like going home for the holidays. Honestly, I love them so much, and [series creators] Peter [Paige], Bradley [Bredeweg], and Joanna [Johnson],” he added. “It’s such a family. And going back there and being able to work with family just felt so natural. I wanted to do more [than two episodes].”

Noah also revealed that Good Trouble will be a little different than The Fosters‘ fans are expecting.

“There’s a lot of maturity in the show. You can expect the same Callie fighting for justice and Mariana fighting for herself and her rights. There are so many great messages in Good Trouble,” Noah shared. “I’m just excited to be a part of it. Oh, and it’s kind of completely different, but in the best way possible.”

Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, David Lambert and Hayden Byerly will also be returning for appearances in the freshman season of the show.

Noah Centineo Was Hesitant In Taking 'The Stand-In' Role

Noah Centineo‘s next Netflix movie, The Stand-In, doesn’t have a release date just yet, but we’re 100% excited for it.

However, the 22-year-old actor revealed to THR that he was actually hesitant to take the part.

The flick follows a teen raising money for college by acting as a “stand-in” boyfriend.

“Yeah, I was hesitant, because that’s all I have played,” Noah says of his role as the love interest. “Everything that I’m doing right now, everything that I have done or everything I have lined up are stepping stones. I’m not anywhere near where I want to be.”

However, he did enjoy reuniting with Laura Marano, who he starred with in Austin & Ally, aka his first ever job.

Noah told Seventeen that he loves “her to death. She’s so smart and so talented. She really just gives a sh** about life and living conditions and what’s happening in the real world as far as our country and people’s rights. She’s just, across the board, such a lovely individual.”

He adds, “Having a little reunion with her was sick. I mean, I think we had pretty great chemistry. I haven’t seen the cut, so maybe it’s miserable and it’s terrible, but I had a lot of fun on that film, especially with Laura.”

Noah Centineo Talks Action Movie Roles & Celebrity Crushes!

Noah Centineo has already proven himself a rom-com star, and now he’s ready to take on some more action!

The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser star recently opened up about his upcoming role in Valet, an action flick about a young valet driver who gets involved in a government mission to take down an international arms dealer after he valets a car for a government agent.

“I think it’s a feeling, definitely,” Noah told ET about the transition. “It’s a mood, overall, the ambiance of the film will be completely different. But there is romance in this, and there’s obviously action. It’s a really great film. I read it and I was so passionate about it. I just really related to it, intrinsically, and I couldn’t let it go.”

On his upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot co-stars, Noah added, “They’re very loving people. We were filming in Germany and Turkey, and as soon as I got there, they’re like, ‘What’s good, man! Want to hang out?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, for sure!’ They’re all lovely, deeply talented, dedicated individuals.”

Noah won’t, however, be making any major moves to reality TV anytime soon: “Not for a while. I’m not really interested in that. I think maybe if I did it, it’d be, like, when I’m way older.”

A role he would be interested in, though? “I would be so happy to be Young Hulk. I cannot even explain to you. That would be so dope. He was my favorite Marvel hero, and the fact that Mark Ruffalo plays him is sick.”

Noah also dished on some of his celebrity crushes.
