Normani Couldn't Make It to This Fan's Prom... So She Came to His Graduation!

Normani surprised a fan, Gabriel Lowell, at his high school graduation ceremony!

The former Fifth Harmony member stepped out for the event on Friday (June 1) in Houston, where she grew up.

Last year, Gabriel asked Normani to prom, but she was unable to attend due to scheduling commitments.

She definitely made up for it this weekend, though, after spending the day hanging out with him and his classmates!

“I love you so much,” Gabriel tweeted. “Thank you for everything you do. You made an amazing day even more special. I can’t wait until you show the world what they’ve been missing. It’s not everyday your idol comes to your graduation for you and your bestfriend. 💕 @Normani @GucciGabby3.”

“I’m so proud of you and this milestone,” Normani replied. “You always have my support in anything you both choose to pursue. I love you guys so much. Thanks for making me feel special on YOUR day. I’m literally getting my charm put on my bracelet now lol See y’all soon ✨😘👑👑 love you legends.”

Normani Has A 'Clear Vision' For Her Solo Music

Normani made her solo performance debut over the past weekend at the Billboard Music Awards, and since then, we’ve only been even more excited for her solo music that’s coming.

The 21-year-old spoke to Billboard about her upcoming sound and she has a clear cut plan.

“I just want to take it back to the music I fell in love with, and what made me fall in love with music for the first time,” Normani shared. “I grew up with my grandmother driving me to school and my mother listening to ’90s music.”

She adds, “I’m fearless. I have a very clear vision of what I want this body of work to sound like and it’s just about execution. I don’t care how long it takes, because that first impression is the last.”

Normani Talks Fifth Harmony Break: 'I Don't Think It Should Be Sad'

Normani hit the carpet solo at the 2018 Billboard Awards, and the singer is opening up about being without her Fifth Harmony band mates.

“We’ve been together the last six years and that’s all we’ve ever known,” the 21-year-old told Billboard. “So to now be thrown as a solo artist, and now all eyes are on you, it’s definitely something that you have to get used to.”

“But I think that everything that we’ve done, especially considering I didn’t even know those girls existed six years ago, so everything that we accomplished, I don’t think it should be anything sad. It’s not a disappointment,” Normani continued. “That’s always the place we could call home.”

As for what we could expect from her new solo music, she didn’t give much away but left us with a bit of a tease.

“A lot of dope collaborations, I will say. I’m not going to give anything away,” she said, adding, “I could say I may be the only vocal.”
