The 23-year-old singer is showing off her incredible dance moves in the epic new music video for her new single “Motivation” and we just can’t stop watching.
“I recorded this song a while back,” Normani told Rolling Stone earlier this month. “And it’s crazy because, I’ll be on Twitter, and [fans] will be like, ‘Sis, where’s the new music? Where’s the new music? I’m like, ‘Guys, it’s coming. I promise it’s coming.’ I shot the video probably a month ago. It’s going to be worth the wait…It’s an upbeat [song]. It’s a feel good record. I think that everybody will really love it. It was the first opportunity that I had to have fun.”
The 23-year-old Fifth Harmonymember-turned-solo star is already making waves with smash hits alongside Khalid and Sam Smith, and now she’s going solo with “Motivation,” released on Friday (August 16).
The track is the lead single off of her long-awaited solo studio album, and was co-written by Ariana Grande, Ilya, Savan Kotecha and Max Martin.
“Just trust your instinct; trust your gut. And listen to that voice inside of you, and it’ll tell you that you’re done. Just take your time, too, and have fun in the process and make sure that it’s something that you love. She’s dope. She also has a part in the record that I’m releasing, too. She wrote on it,” Normani said of Ari‘s involvement.

Normani has always been a strong woman who will stand up for herself and she did just that when someone wrote a tweet that basically said she wasn’t as good as Beyonce.
First, a fan tweeted a video of Normani slaying the stage and said how she “could’ve saved Fifth Harmony.”
Then, a writer for the New York Times retweeted the video with this comment, “Every time I see Normani perform I feel like she hasn’t graduated Beyoncé school yet.”
Normani saw the tweet and simply responded, “then don’t watch.” Within just a few hours, the tweet already has thousands of likes. See the exchange below.

Becky G sees inspiration everywhere, especially in newcomer musicians who have a “superstar x-factor.”
Chatting with E! News at the BBMAs last night in Vegas, the 21-year-old singer named “my homies Khalid and Normani” being two musicians she looks to often.
“I think that they just have that thing that, you look at them and they know exactly who it is that they are, where it is that they wanna go,” Becky shared. “But it’s just a matter of surrounding yourself with good people that are gonna allow you to explore those ideas and that creativity.”
She adds, “When I look at them, you know, we all grew up loving music and being inspired by it, but it’s another thing to actually pursue it. It’s intimidating but it’s also very inspiring.”
