Parker Young just booked a new role on Fox’s pilot Enlisted.
The 24-year-old actor would play Private Randy Waits, the endearing kid brother of Derrick and Pete (Geoff Stults). Randy’s a gung ho soldier with a heart of gold who unfortunately has a habit of destroying really expensive military equipment.
Parker currently stars on ABC’s Suburgatory as Ryan Shay, Tessa’s (Jane Levy) boyfriend and Lisa’s (Allie Grant) adopted brother.
According to TVLine, Parker‘s character, Ryan, would head off to college in May’s season finale and creator Emily Kapnek shared that “he’s safe.”
Sources, though, indicate that Enlisted is in “first position,” which means if the comedy gets ordered to series by Fox and ABC renews Suburgatory for a third season, Enlisted is his first priority.
