Before the 25-year-old actress took to the stage, Patricia Arquette spoke about Change.org’s petition to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and the importance of mentorship for women.

The two young stars are at the show to represent their movie Boyhood, which is nominated for Best Feature and four other awards.
Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke were also in attendance as they are nominated for Best Supporting Female and Best Supporting Male, respectively.

Ellar Coltrane gets ready for a photo opp while attending the American Riviera Awards Tribute held during the 2015 Santa Barbara International Film Festival at Arlington Theatre on Thursday night (February 5) in Santa Barbara, Calif.
This was the first time the award was given to two honorees – Ethan and Patricia – for their strong influence on American Cinema.
“To honor Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke with the American Riviera Award is an immense privilege for SBIFF,” Executive Director Roger Durlingsaid. “Both have careers filled with significant achievements on and off camera. Their roles in Richard Linklater‘s Boyhood feature some of the most unique performances of the year in a project they worked on for over a dozen years, proving that they are artists who continue to evolve and inspire us.”
The 20-year-old actor was also joined at the show by his movie parents Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette. Their movie is nominated for eight awards tonight, including Best Picture!
Ellar kicked off the show with a big win – he picked up the award for Best Young Actor/Actress for his work in the movie.
