The 21-year-old actor joined his mom Maria Shriver at the event where funds were raised and friendships were made for Best Buddies International, a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Set in the near future after cataclysmic events, North tells the story of two teenagers (Lofland, Kennedy Clark) who strike out on a dangerous journey into an unknown new world to find family and ultimately a hope for the future.
Principal photography is now underway in Detroit, Mich. We can’t wait to see it!
Bella sat down with The Wrap to talk about the film, which revolves around a 17-year-old girl who has been sheltered since childhood and confined to her house during the day by a rare disease that made even the smallest amount of sunlight deadly. Fate intervenes though when she meets Charlie and they embark on a summer romance.
“Hopefully it’ll be somewhat like The Notebook. It’s a very sad love story,” Bella explained.
