The hit show returned on Thursday night with great ratings — 3.48 million viewers — and was up nine percent in certain demographics! It was also the best premiere in two years for the series in women 18-34. How cool!

In the upcoming episode, “Memorial,” While Elena (Dobrev) tries to cope with the extreme highs and lows that are part of becoming a vampire, Stefan (Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) almost come to blows while arguing about what is best for her. Damon decides to help Elena in his own way and asks her not to tell Stefan.
Meanwhile, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) are surprised to see a girl they used to know, April, (Grace Phipps), has returned to town and is enrolling at Mystic Falls High.

Torrey DeVitto and husband Paul Wesley step out for the H-Couture 2012: The Future Of Fashion held at The Mark on Saturday night (September 22) in Los Angeles.
Wearing a gorgeous Contrarian dress, the 28-year-old actress hosted the event with Paul, 30, which was a celebration of the latest in designer menswear and womenswear for conscious living.
Earlier over the weekend, Torrey and Paul were spotted out at the 2012 Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party held at Fig & Olive Melrose Place in West Hollywood.
FYI: Torrey completed her H-Couture look with C-Label vegan shoes, a vegan clutch by Matt and Nat, and Effy jewels. At the EW party, she wore a Ted Baker dress.
In “Growing Pains,” Elena (Nina Dobrev) awakens on the morning after the accident to find the thing she dreaded most has come true – she died with vampire blood in her system and now must go through the terrible transition to become a vampire…or face certain death.
Stefan (Paul Wesley) promises Elena that he and Bonnie (Kat Graham) will exhaust every possible way out of the situation, but Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is furious with his brother for letting Elena die in the first place.
