Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter & More React to 'Girl Meets World' Emmy Nomination

Girl Meets World picked up an Emmy nomination last night for “Outstanding Children’s Program,” (its third Emmy nomination in three years) and former cast-members Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, August Maturo, Danielle Fishel, and Peyton Meyer have all taken to social media to express their gratitude.

“So grateful!! Thank you @TheEmmys,” Rowan wrote, “Thank you to the incredible audience and the awesome cast & crew!”

“GMW got its 3rd Emmy nom today,” Sabrina shared, “Thank you to the Academy and of course our incredible audience. @TheEmmys congrats cast+crew!!”

“Very thankful to the Academy and our amazing audience,” Peyton wrote, “Huge congrats cast and crew. 3rd times the charm.” (We hope so, too!)

“So proud #GirlMeetsWorld was nominated for its 3rd #Emmy Grateful to have been part of this special show. Congrats @GMWWriters, cast & crew!” August added.

“3rd time is a charm,” Danielle wrote in a note on Instagram, “Congrats to the hard-working cast and crew of Girl Meets World, especially our writers who tirelessly (and sometimes thanklessly) gave their all every week. Well, except that one week where we all got lazy but otherwise flawless. Let’s go win an Emmy!!”

Girl Meets World fans are NOT ready to say goodbye to their beloved show, and they want Netflix to know.

Disney Channel announced
on January 4 that Girl Meets World would be cancelled after Season 3.

Castmates Rowan Blanchard and August Maturo were together when they received the heartbreaking news. And Sabrina Carpenter wrote a super touching letter to her fellow castmembers and the show’s devoted fans that might bring you to tears.

Fans immediately reacted, writing their own love letters to the show.

And now fans are taking things one step further, rallying Netflix to pick up the show for Season 4 and beyond.

They started the hashtag #GirlMeetsNetflix.

Think it will work? Fingers crossed!

Peyton Meyer & Amir Mitchell-Townes Reflect on 'Girl Meets World' After Cancellation News

We were so looking forward to seeing more about Lucas and Zay’s friendship on Girl Meets World!

The stars who portrayed the two characters — Peyton Meyer and Amir Mitchell-Townes — have both released statements on the shocking cancellation of the Disney series.

“I will forever carry with me love and gratitude to each and every member of the GMW family, and especially Michael Jacobs who taught me so much,” Peyton shared on his Instagram account.

JJJ reached out to Amir to see what he had to say about the news.

GMW has been an extraordinary experience that made such a positive impact on my life,” he told us. “We created a family and nothing can break that! It’s sad to see the show end but so blessed to know what we left the world!”

'Girl Meets World' Officially Cancelled By Disney Channel

In heartbreaking news, Girl Meets World has officially been cancelled.

The Disney Channel has decided not to renew it for a fourth season, and the upcoming third season will serve as the series finale.

“It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over,” the show’s writers tweeted. “I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes. We leave you with three incredible souvenirs of a show we couldn’t be more proud of. As I look back I can tell you with absolute certainty – We gave you our best.

The show’s stars – Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, August Maturo, and more – had been rallying fans in recent weeks to help save the show.
