Il Volo have opened up pre-orders on their upcoming album, Notte Magica!
The guys — Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto — announced the new album, which is a tribute to the Three Tenors, earlier in the month and also just debuted the official video of their recent “Nessun Dorma” performance at the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, Italy.
Notte Magica – A Tribute To The Three Tenors will feature a special appearance by Placido Domingo and will debut on September 30th.
Songs on the album include “Granada”, “Mattinata”, “L’Elisir d’amore: Una furtiva lagrima”, “La Danza”, and more.
“We didn’t know each other, but when we met for the first time it was like old friends,” Piero shared ahead of their Las Vegas concert over the weekend.
He added about the experience at their concerts, “I can tell you if you come to our show you can laugh, you can cry, you can have fun because it’s classical music, but we want to bring this kind of music to the young generation.”
“That’s not something we wanted to do,” Gianlucashared recently about including more modern songs on their latest album. “It was something different but it wasn’t the right way to go about things.”
He added, “We want to impress people with the music we love. We want to impress people with powerful songs. We want to surprise our audience. When we get to America, we want to sing classical songs. We want to sing Caruso. We want to sing the great songs.”
Speaking with Opera News recently, Gianluca opened up about the group’s passion behind the operatic music they perform.
“We want to show to the young generation how beautiful this music is,” he explained. “In Italy, we sing in arenas of 20,000 people. And it’s normal [to try and reach young people in this way] because young people are used to different kinds of boy bandsof rock boy bands and pop boy bands. It’s an important part of music culture.”
Gianluca added, “We’ve always wanted to communicate the beauty of Italian culture, since the beginning. This music conveys the emotions. We can be funny, we can be emotional. It’s all in the music.”
Il Volo gather together in a circle on stage while closing out their European tour at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy on Friday night (January 29).
“It’s been a month full of commitments, meetings, unforgettable emotions…Thanks to you all that you are part of our amazing adventure, day after day!” they wrote on Instagram. “We’ll see you on 4 July at the Verona Arena for the date of the end of the world tour!”
Il Volo are backed by a full orchestra during the concert on Saturday night (January 16) in Rome, Italy.
“Each stage is an experience, every date is a way to meet you and hear you neighbors, every concert is a memory that we’ll always in my heart,” the group wrote on Facebook. “Thank you for this evening ?#?Rome?! ?#?Ilvololivepalasport2016?.”
“On the 14th of February at 6pm we will present the first exclusive fashion and accessories collection for www.ilvolomusic.com,” Il Volo announced the news on Instagram last week. Can’t wait!
