'Pretty Little Liars' Showrunner Dishes On What's To Come in Final 10 Episodes

Who else is still reeling from the summer finale of Pretty Little Liars?

After the premiere, showrunner I. Marlene King spoke to reporters about what’s ahead on the series concerning all the Liars, Toby, Ezria and more. Check it:

On Toby and Yvonne: “There was nothing nefarious going on there. The car crash was just saying that no one ever really leaves Rosewood, especially from this group. It’s more of a metaphor than anything else. I don’t want to talk about where it goes, but people know how much I love the character of Toby, so you can read into that. He’s one of my favorites on this show.”

On Mary Drake and Spencer: “We will find out who Charlotte’s father is, and we will find out how Spencer came to be with her entire family dynamic. This storyline also originated from the books. In Sara Shepard’s original books, Spencer is adopted. Early on, that gave us the idea for this storyline, so the final season will circle back to a lot of Sara’s original concepts from the books.”

On Wren’s return: “We’ll see him in more than one episode, which is fantastic. It’s so much fun to see Wren, even just to see him on set. It’s fun! When we were talking to Julian [Morris], he said that he’d never had a scene with Ezra, and he and Ian (Harding) are friends in real life. So he said, ‘Please, can I have a scene with Ezra?,’ so that was the originator of the first scene we’ll see Wren in when he comes back.”

On Ali’s pregnancy: “Nothing is average in Pretty Little Liars, so you can take that to fuel your theory. Everything is a little spectacular.”

On a potential film: “We’re very open to keeping these characters alive. I hope that down the line we find a way to bring all the girls back together again. It’s such a fun world to play in that we are always keeping those options open. I will say that the final episode is like a two-hour movie. It is a two-hour movie. I am co-writing it with Michael Smith, who I wrote [this] finale with and I’ll be directing it.”

Pretty Little Liars returns in April 2017.

Troian Bellisario Pens Touching Post to 'PLL' Fans After Cancellation News

Troian Bellisario is really tugging at our heartstrings!

The Pretty Little Liars star took to Instagram to react to the news that the show will end with season seven.

“Yesterday was strange. I’ve thought about what it would be like to tell the world we are saying goodbye for a long time,” Troian wrote. “I didn’t really know what it would be like. We (the cast and crew) have known for a long time so when we said it out loud I felt so removed. As if I was commenting on something that was already gone. But the truth is, there’s so much left to do. So much of this story left to tell in these final months. And I will say that I am more proud of the work we are doing now. More proud of the friendships we have now and the lives we are living now, as a cast and crew, than I ever have been. So don’t be sad. Or be sad if you need to be. But know you have an amazing last season ahead of you. Enjoy the #pll finale tonight. It will be the second to last one we ever do.”

Ashley Benson also wrote on Instagram, “So sad to know that this show is coming to an end. But excited for you to see the amazing finale tonight!!!!! Can’t wait for you to see the next season…… It’s the best one yet. Love these girls so much and everyone who has been involved with the show since day one. And I love you guys!!!!! Without our fans we wouldn’t be here today we love you!!!!”

Will Spencer & Marco Last on 'Pretty Little Liars'?

Will Spencer & Marco Last on 'Pretty Little Liars'?

We are getting so pumped for tonight’s summer finale of Pretty Little Liars!

In case you missed the epic promo, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen) share a kiss, which we can’t wait to see!

But, for now, Spencer is still seeing Detective Marco (Nicholas Gonzalez). So what’s going to happen there?

“Marco’s a good guy. From everything we’ve seen and I’ve been told about him, he’s really in town to solve some crimes. He’s a moral, upstanding guy,” Nicholas told TVLine.com. “As for Spencer, he just sees a charming, beautiful, intelligent, witty woman. Despite all these signs against them, he wants a relationship with her.”

But is this just a rebound for Spencer?

Nicholas said, “With Spencer, if you’re going to make that argument, you’d have to ask, “Isn’t she always rebounding?” She’s always breaking up with somebody. … The potential in everything is there, but the question is: How much is Marco going to find out? That will determine the level of their relationship. I don’t know if he’s ready to compromise his own morals, career and life for it.”

Pretty Little Liars airs TONIGHT, August 30 @ 8PM on Freeform.
