Keegan Allen Hilariously Adapts the Jealous Girlfriend Meme to Spencer & Toby

The “jealous girlfriend” stock photo meme has been sweeping the Internet, provoking a number of hilarious entries.

Now, former Pretty Little Liars actor Keegan Allen is getting in on the trend.

“In case you missed the finale,” he wrote, with his own version of the meme in which Toby is checking out Spencer and Alex Drake is the jealous girlfriend. It’s actually a pretty succinct and hilarious, if oversimplified, recap of the show’s series finale.

If you haven’t watched the series finale of Pretty Little Liars, we aren’t going to ruin it for you — just take consolation in the fact that Spencer and Toby are endgame, and we have the memes to prove it.

'Pretty Little Liars' Showrunner Defended Spoby's Ending Because Some Fans Weren't Happy

'Pretty Little Liars' Showrunner Defended Spoby's Ending Because Some Fans Weren't Happy

In the finale episode of Pretty Little Liars, Spencer Hastings was the only Liar without a ring on her finger and some Spoby fans weren’t happy about it.

However, Troian Bellisario was (see here for reference), and just recently, showrunner I. Marlene King had to defend Spencer’s ending again on social media.

Speaking with EW around the time of the finale, Marlene shared that Spoby definitely was endgame even if they weren’t together at that moment.

“Yes [they will be together]. I hope fans got that…we literally did say, could we have a double wedding? Or should we have a triple wedding? That felt like it was a little too much. But I think they got their happy ending.”

Marlene also had a conversation on Twitter to reveal why their ending was the way it was.

“But really, given the story, it would have been false and rushed. Spoby is together but they needed some time and breath. That’s my truth,” she posted. “And to Spoby fans, watch the scene where Toby knows Spencer from Alex. I hope in time u realize the epic love and romance in that moment.”

“It never occurred to me that Spoby fans would not be happy with the finale,” Marlene added on Instagram this week. “That moment when Toby knew in his heart who the real Spencer was… for me it was a huge romantic moment. Worthy of an epic love story. For me it was understood…. Spoby was and is end game.”

Shay Mitchell Reveals the One Thing She Won't Miss From 'Pretty Little Liars'

Shay Mitchell Reveals the One Thing She Won't Miss From 'Pretty Little Liars'

Shay Mitchell had the time of her life filming Pretty Little Liars with her co-stars.

The cast wrapped filming a while ago now, and the actress recently revealed that there’s one thing she probably won’t be missing too much!

PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Shay Mitchell

“It’s always hard as an actor to put down a character and say goodbye to them,” Shay told Wetpaint about her character, Emily. “I grew up with her, and she grew up with me, and it was a really, really awesome time in my life. You know, I had so much fun, and I played her for seven years, so I think also, [I miss] going to the set, seeing the girls, and the crew. I mean that was my second family.”

“What will I not miss?” Shay added. “I’d say maybe putting on the bathing suit and swim cap that she wore? That’s something I probably won’t miss.”

Shay also shared her thoughts on Emily not getting to put on the black hoodie, stating, “You know, I’m OK with it because I think – no, I don’t think, I know – Troian [Bellisario] played that so, so well. I’m so happy with how the writers did that.”

So, where does Shay see Emily in 10 years? “I think Emily is going to move back to California, with Alison, and she’s going to be a swim coach at UCLA and live happily ever after,” she said.

Pretty Little Liars' I. Marlene King Reveals How the Moms Really Got Out of the Basement

When Pretty Little Liars ended in June, we still didn’t know exactly how the moms of the Liars actually got out of the basement!

In fact, we were still wondering about it but thanks to Shay Mitchell, we now have an answer.

Shay was actually visiting the Pretty Little Liars museum at Warner Bros. Studios, and caught up with showrunner I. Marlene King, who had the answer.

“They were in there a long time and they had to probably climb on top of each other,” Marlene shared.

She added, “Pam [Fields]…had to take her clothes off, and they put oil on her and slid her out of the window.”

Troian Bellisario Didn't Connect As Much With Spencer at the End of 'Pretty Little Liars'

Troian Bellisario Didn't Connect As Much With Spencer at the End of 'Pretty Little Liars'

If you look back on the countless interviews for Pretty Little Liars, you’ll find pretty much everyone saying that as soon as Troian Bellisario walked into auditions for the series, she WAS Spencer Hastings.

The actress, and her co-stars, admitted that she definitely connected with Spencer during the early days of the series — but not as much at the end, it looks like.

“I would say that in the beginning Spencer and I had a few major things in common, but not a lot more than that,” Troian shared in Tumblr’s Post It Forward Q&A last week.

She adds, “Over the years and over time, my experiences affected her and playing her affected me.”

While both Spencer and she have grown together, and apart, Troian also shared that she really hasn’t looked back on the role just yet — seeing as the series just ended.

“I probably won’t know entirely how for many years. It’s still a pretty recent experience in my life.”
