Fans had a ton of questions about Ross and Rocky Lynch‘s new music project, The Driver Era, when it was first announced.
The biggest question — what the rest of R5 (Riker, Rydel and Ellington) thought about it all.
Speaking with Billboard about it, Ross and Rocky assure everyone that they’re okay about it all.
“Everyoneās really into it, actually,” Ross explained. “Everyone is super supportive. Weāve always had a family dynamic, itās always been love and support.”
He adds, “A big part of that is the fact that Rocky and I live together, and weāre in the studio every single day. Weāre writing songs and working hard on this craft that weāve honed in an and wanna continue to hone in on and perfect, which is songwriting and anything sonically really.”
“It feels organic and natural right now for it to be the main focus of The Driver Era.”
Moving on from R5 wasn’t a light decision, but it was a move in the right direction; and their family will always be supportive.
“Weāve all been playing music together for 10+ years. Weāve created such a bond thatās really electric on stage,” Ross adds. “I think that was the main appeal of R5, and thatās why a lot of people like us to this day. Thatās how we sustained all of the energy we created 5 years ago.
“We donāt wanna tarnish that at all. Weāre currently brainstorming ways on how to involve that same energy and dynamic into The Driver Era.”
