In “Backups & Breakups,” Trish’s (Raini Rodriguez) new boyfriend, Trent (Jackson), auditions for a role as Austin’s (Ross Lynch) backup dancer and she decides to keep their relationship a secret so as not to influence Team Austin’s decision.
However, when Ally (Laura Marano) sees Trent flirting with another girl, she has to decide whether or not to tell Trish.
“If I saw my friend’s boyfriend flirting with another girl, I would talk to him first before I talked to her,” Raini told JJJ about the subject of the episode. “If it’s harmless flirting like just laughing at his jokes then it’s okay, but if it’s constant hand holding and over board touching, then I would tell him to cut it out and if he didn’t then I would tell her.”
