Ricky Whittle's Mom Criticizes 'The 100' Showrunner & 'Bullies' In Series of Tweets

Ricky Whittle's Mom Criticizes 'The 100' Showrunner & 'Bullies' In Series of Tweets

We’re not sure if we want to see Ricky Whittle leave The 100 for good…but his mom’s tweets are making us worry.

If you didn’t know, the 34-year-old actor was cast as Shadow in Starz’ upcoming American Gods small-screen adaption which will start filming in April. Does that mean he’s off The 100 for good, or not?

While no official word or statement has been released, Ricky‘s mom has implied that he has left the show because of “bullies” and goes on to criticize shworunner and executive producer, Jason Rothenberg.

“Finally got full story from my son, @JRothenbergTV should be ashamed! Disgusting behaviour from grown man & one in ‘power to an honest person,” his mom writes in one tweet.

She continued, “Even as a boy Rick always stood up for himself & others against bullies, I’m proud he continued this trend & glad karma rewarded him. I hope he shares the sad truth so u all understand why he had to walk away. Nobody should have to deal with bullies alone, talk to someone.”

The 100's Ricky Whittle Joins 'American Gods' Adaption; Author Neil Gaiman Won't Let Them 'White-Wash' It

Ricky Whittle is moving to Starz for American Gods.

The 34-year-old The 100 actor will star as Shadow Moon in the project, from Neil Gaiman‘s book of the same name, Deadline reports.

American Gods centers on a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.

Shadow Moon (Whittle), is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

Neil took to Twitter to comment on the “white-washing” potential of the project. Read his tweet below:

Ricky Whittle leans his head on Marie Avgeropoulos shoulder during The 100 panel during 2015 Comic-Con on Friday afternoon (July 10) in San Diego, Calif.

The 33-year-old actor, who plays Lincoln on the CW show, left the panel for a bit to comfort a fan who prepared to ask a question to the stars before she started crying because she couldn’t believe she was standing in front of them.

“Aww,” one of the panelists said. “We’re going to start crying.” Check out the sweet moment below!

Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley & 'The 100' Stars Dish On Season Three At Comic-Con Panel

Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley & 'The 100' Stars Dish On Season Three At Comic-Con Panel

Eliza Taylor steps out at the panel for The 100 during the 2015 Comic-Con on Friday afternoon (July 10) in San Diego, Calif.

The 25-year-old actress joined her co-stars Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Ricky Whittle, Isaiah Washington and executive producer Jason Rothenberg to dish about the upcoming third season premiering next year.

“We’re going to have our first time jump between seasons,” Jason shared. “We’re going to pick things up a couple months after Clarke bailed on her people. The A.I. story [in that mansion] really sets us in a new, much more science-fiction direction.”

Check out what else is coming on the show (via TVLine):

Eliza On Clarke: “She’s gone batst crazy. What she did at the end of the season was so huge and traumatic, so she’s running away, which is very un-Clarke-like. When we pick things up, I think she’s going to be losing it a little,” Eliza shared.

Jason added about Clexa, “I suppose there’s hope for reconciliation [between Clarke and Lexa], because Alicia Debnam-Carey is coming back to the show,

Bob On Bellamy: “Clarke left him there to [be a leader]. So I imagine he’ll just do what Clarke couldn’t do, which is to become a leader.”

Marie on Octavia: “Octavia hasn’t really fit in anywhere, growing up under the floor. Through Lincoln, she really found her place within the world. The Grounders brought out the warrior in her, so I think she’d have a hard time going back to the Arkers and being resentful towards those people.”

Lindsey on Raven: “I think she’s still a little bitter [about her injury]. For her to lose a certain strength, but to find an even greater strength in learning how to live and operate no matter what, shows her inner strength. I get the opportunity to portray someone with a disability on TV; I think that’s really important.”

Ricky on Lincoln: “We’re all molded by our experiences. The good thing about Lincoln is that his moral compass has never changed. He’ll continue to make immense sacrifices for his beliefs and for Octavia.”

FYI: Eliza is carrying a Nancy Gonzalez clutch.
