Robbie Coltrane has sadly passed away.
The Scottish actor, perhaps most well known for portraying Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies, was 72 years old.
His agency WME confirmed the sad news to Variety on Friday (October 14).
In addition to his work as Hagrid, who was one of the first characters to appear on screen in the Harry Potter movie adaptation, he’s also known for his work on two James Bond movies and Van Helsing, as well as voicing the character Lord Dingwall in Pixar‘s movie Brave.
Just last year, Robbie was one of many Harry Potter stars to appear in the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special on HBO Max.
Robbie has even won three BAFTAs for his work in the series Cracker.
He also reprised his character for the Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure attraction at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

The 29-year-old YouTuber revealed that her eldest daughter Everleigh Rose‘s biological father Tommy has passed away.
“Our hearts are incredibly heavy as we process the loss of Everleigh’s dad, Tommy,” she shared on her Instagram account.

That Girl Lay Lay creator David A Arnold has sadly passed away.
The 54-year-old comedian’s family confirmed the news of his unexpected passing on Wednesday (September 7).
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold,” they shared, via Variety. “David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes. Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”
In addition to being a comedian, with a Netflix special, It Ain’t for the Weak, just released back in July, David also created That Girl Lay Lay on Nickelodeon, and served as showrunner and executive producer.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.
The 96-year-old royal’s family confirmed the news on Thursday (September 8).
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” they wrote on the official Twitter page.
Earlier in the day, a statement from Buckingham Palace was released, saying, “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
The Queen‘s passing comes after celebrating her Platinum Jubilee earlier this year, marking 70 years on the throne. She was the longest reigning monarch after making her ascension to the throne on her birthday, February 6, in 1952.
Earlier this year, her role was revealed to be revolving.
Her Majesty‘s husband, the late Prince Philip died at age 99 just last year.

Tyler Sanders has sadly died at the young age of 18 years old.
The Just Add Magic: Mystery City died on Thursday (June 16) at his home in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
Tyler most recently appeared on an episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star, but is most well known for starring as Leo on Just Add Magic: Mystery City on Prime Video, for which he received a 2021 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Principal Performance in a Children’s Program.
He has also appeared on Fear the Walking Dead, The Rookie, the movie The Reliant, and the Lifetime movie Escaping My Stalker.
