Riverdale's Madelaine Petsch Had A Hard Time With Cheryl Blossom Being On The Receiving End Of Parental Abuse

Riverdale's Madelaine Petsch Had A Hard Time With Cheryl Blossom Being On The Receiving End Of Parental Abuse

Cheryl Blossom has been through just about everything in season one of Riverdale.

The biggest thing was losing her twin brother, Jason, at the hands of her own father, Clifford. That would be hard to go through for anyone, but you have to add in her parents’ abuse, too.

All of that is one hard childhood, and it’s something that Madelaine Petsch had a hard time with.

“The parental abuse was very difficult to bring out,” she shared in a recent interview. “I come from a very supportive home, so to create this persona was very dark.”

Madelaine adds that losing someone close to you was also a difficult thing for her character.

“I lost a best friend a couple of years ago and that was kind of what I had to tap and think about on a daily basis,” she shared. “I always say actors are the people who try to feel everyone else’s suffering. I had to bring up some things that I didn’t really wanna think about, but it worked, right?”

Riverdale season two is currently filming.

Riverdale's Rob Raco Teases What's in Store For Joaquin & Kevin's Relationship

Are you a big fan of Kevin (Casey Cott) and Joaquin’s (Rob Raco) relationship on Riverdale?

Rob recently opened up about it, and what’s in store for season two.

“This is my favorite thing about this show. Being a heterosexual man myself, portraying Joaquin as confident with his sexuality as I am with mine has been incredible,” Rob told TVSourceMagazine.com. “It’s inspirational to me. It’s fearless. Nothing is forced, nothing seems fake, Love is the only truth, no matter how you title it. Our writing staff has done an incredible job nailing this.”

As for the future of their romance, Rob said, “I think it becomes less and less forbidden, but as the connection grows, so do the underlying secrets.”

Riverdale returns this fall on The CW.

New 'Riverdale' Theory Suggests Betty Cooper's Brother Could Be Joaquin!

New 'Riverdale' Theory Suggests Betty Cooper's Brother Could Be Joaquin!

At the end of Riverdale season one, fans learned that Alice Cooper had a child with FP Jones who she had given up for adoption — and some Reddit users think they found out who the kid is now — JOAQUIN!

In the theory from Redditor RandomFranticAction, they suggest that Joaquin could actually be Alice and FP’s child.

Betty Cooper and Joaquin are half siblings!

“Joaquin is the baby Hal wanted Alice to abort,” the Reddit post reads. “And FP is the father,” another user added.

This could easily explain the tension between Alice and FP Jones, and actor Rob Raco, who plays Joaquin, hints that this actually could be true.

TELL JJJ: What do you think of this theory?

Riverdale's Casey Cott Tweets About a Donut Shop That Gives Cole Sprouse Free Food

Riverdale star Casey Cott (who plays lovable Kevin) posted a hilarious tweet this afternoon that has his followers cracking up.

The 24-year-old actor uploaded a picture of his local coffee shop’s sign, which appears to have a Riverdale-aficionado barista.

Cole Sprouse eats here free,” the sign reads in bubble lettering, though clarifying: “only when Amanda works Monday – Friday.”

Same, Amanda.

“My local coffee/donut shop appears to favor Jughead more than Kevin and I’m only slightly upset about it. @colesprouse,” Casey tweeted, pointing out the injustice.

Was Amanda working, though, Casey? We have a feeling she just might have given you a free donut.

Molly Ringwald Returns To 'Riverdale' For Season 2

It’s not just Veronica’s dad, Hiram Lodge, who is coming back to Riverdale — Archie’s mom is too!

Archie Comics revealed earlier this week that Mary Andrews, played by Molly Ringwald, is coming back to her hometown for season two.

The last we saw Mary, she was heading back to Chicago, where she started a brand new life after leaving Fred and Archie two years before that.

Now, with Fred getting shot and his fate, up in the air, we knew she had to come back. We mean, Archie needs some kind of parental unit around, right? Right.

It’s no secret that everyone in their right mind is obsessed with the teen mystery drama Riverdale (KJ Apa even had someone call him “Archiekins at a Chipotle) and as it turns out, Cole Sprouse‘ former Suite Life of Zack & Cody co-star Ashley Tisdale is no exception.

“Guys I’m late to the game but @CW_Riverdale is SO good,” the 31-year-old producer and make-up connoisseur tweeted this morning, “So proud of my lil bro @colesprouse. I can’t. stop. watching.”

Lea Michele responded to her tweet, applauding her for finally watching.

“I told you you would LOVE IT!!!! I’m obsessed!!!!!”

Stars: they really are like us.
