Robert Pattinson lets out a happy smile as he makes an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning (August 15) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actor, in Kenzo pants, shirt and blazer, went on the morning show to promote his flick Cosmopolis, but was unable to dodge questions about the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal.

When asked if he was doing okay, Robert simply replied, “yeah, yeah.”

“I’ve never been interested in trying to sell my personal life . . . That’s the reason you go on TV – to promote movies. That’s the only way to do it,” Robert added.

Robert Pattinson pulls his white ball cap backwards as he arrives back at his hotel on Tuesday night (August 14) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actor has reportedly landed a role as Lawrence of Arabia opposite Naomi Watts in the upcoming film Queen of the Desert, according to Variety.

Naomi will play Gertrude Bell, “a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attache for the British Empire. [She was] one of the first women to graduate from Oxford at the turn of the 20th century and traveled through the Middle East, defining the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.”

Rob will play T.E. Lawrence, “a British Army officer whose writing earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, on whom David Lean‘s classic 1962 epic is based. Lawrence was a good friend to Bell over the years, as the duo helped establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq.”

Robert Pattinson hits up the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for his first public interview after the cheating scandal involving Kristen Stewart on Monday night (August 13).

“OK, let’s just do this,” the host said as he placed two pints of Ben & Jerry’s on the table. “Now, we’re just a couple of gals talking. All right…Tell me everything.”

Rob smiled and said, “Now I’m going to sound like an idiot. But, like, my biggest problem in life is that I’m cheap. I didn’t hire a publicist and in every awkward interview, normally actors get everything scripted. I’m going to hire a publicist.”

The 26-year-old actor stars alongside Juliette Binoche, Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand, Samantha Morton, and Paul Giamatti in the David Cronenberg-directed film.

Here’s the synopsis: Unfolding in a single cataclysmic day, the story follows Eric Packer (Pattinson) – a 28-year old financial whiz kid and billionaire asset manager – as he heads out in his tricked-out stretch limo to get a haircut from his father’s old barber, while remotely wagering his company’s massive fortune on a bet against the Chinese Yuan. Packer’s luxe trip across the city quickly becomes dizzyingly hellish as he encounters explosive city riots, a parade of provocative visitors, and is thrust into a myriad of intimate encounters. Having started the day with everything, believing he is the future, Packer’s perfectly ordered, doubt-free world is about to implode.
