Ronni Hawk is reaching out to her fans with an apology after a few pro-Donald Trump tweets resurfaced.
The actress, who stars in Netflix’s On My Block, had tweeted out her support for Donald Trump as he was running for President of the United States.
Shortly after the tweets were uncovered, fans of the Netflix show (which had just been renewed for season 2), were called for her role to be re-cast.
Now, Ronni has issued an apology about the tweets she wrote.
“To be honest, I’m nervous to speak up knowing whatever I write at this point won’y make everyone happy,” Ronni writes. “The truth is that I was 16 years old when I put that post out there and at 18, I know know that I am not informed enough on several different subjects to be posting blindly.”
She adds, “What I do know, is that being on this show has been one of the most special things in my life and I do not take it for granted. I learned to much from this show – about injustices that take place in this world and that being silent is just as bad as doing nothing.”
