Rowan Blanchard Shares Her Number 1 Beauty Tip

Rowan Blanchard Shares Her Number 1 Beauty Tip

Rowan Blanchard always looks amazing and is giving a little insight into how she keeps her skin looking flawless!

The 16-year-old actress recently signed on as a brand ambassador for Bliss and shared that she loves doing face masks.

“I feel like skincare is my time,” she told Teen Vogue. “That time to relax, lean into routine, and do something that’s really healthy for your skin… I have been trying to do multiple masks a week—trying to get that good skin glow! So, I’ve been using the Mighty Marshmallow one, too as well as an exfoliator.”

As for her top beauty tip – don’t pick at your face!

“Don’t pick at your skin! Because I do that… and then I get acne scars,” Rowan added. “My problem is that I like to pick blackheads. Don’t do it.”

Rowan Blanchard Explains Why She Doesn't Want to be Called An 'Activist' Right Now

Rowan Blanchard Explains Why She Doesn't Want to be Called An 'Activist' Right Now

Rowan Blanchard is often referred to as an activist, however, she’s doesn’t want to be anymore.

The 16-year-old actor opened up about why on her Instagram account after discussing the term in her new cover story with L’Officiel magazine.

“I have been feeling uh dysphoric about the term activist and it’s accessibility and appropriation,” she starts out. “It maybe feels more reductive than progressive.”

Rowan continues that she feels the term “is maybe more of a dead end when its used as a marker of celebrity tokenism and forced upon marginalized identities so that they can do more work than the rest of us.”

“Maybe don’t call me an activist right now, even though I have used that word as applicable to myself before, language changes, and maybe its not my word right now,” she shares. “Thanks for listening.”

In her feature, Rowan discussed why the term was irritating to her at this moment in time.

“I guess what’s irritating about the context of the word ‘activist’ is that so many of my friends whose identities are more fragile and more destructed by this [Trump’s] administration are forced to have the word activist attached to them just because they’re trying to survive and be who they are,” she said.

“They might be trans because that’s who they are, but if they speak about that they’re automatically a trans activist and so on. That’s what makes me feel weird about the term—who gets to decide to be an activist, and who just has to be one because they’re forced to fight?”

Elle Fanning & Rowan Blanchard Reveal Their Inner Warholians for Miu Miu

Elle Fanning and Rowan Blanchard are among the many stars in the Miu Miu girl gang who are featured in the fashion brand’s new campaign for fall/winter 2018!

The retro campaign brought out the inner Warholians of the stars.

The short film, directed by Steve Mackey and Douglas Hart and styled by creative director Katie Grand, began as a test shoot in a Central London basement.

Some of the other stars featured in the campaign are model Adwoa Aboah, Gwendoline Christie, and Raffey Cassidy.

Mackey sets a muted colour palette and monochromatic finish to bring out a mood that is unapologetically sullen, insolent and carries the underlying message: not to be messed with. In times of metaphysical trauma, the girl gang needs to wear its armour. Here it is, set to the mood music of a bored telephone call listing the power of haircuts,” Miu Miu said in a press release.

Rowan Blanchard Wants to Make More Weird Movies

Rowan Blanchard Wants to Make More Weird Movies

Rowan Blanchard looks stunning on C Magazine‘s September issue, available August 28th.

The 16-year-old actress opened up about her acting future, her next book and activism. Check it:

On what she wants to do in the future: “Hopefully I get to make more weird movies. I just want to write more things and act in more things and make things that I think are worth making. So much of the culture is to put things out and not take your time. I’ve been thinking about this quote by Solange where she says she doesn’t put things out until they’re finished. I’m sitting with that quote this summer and thinking about what I can make. And I’m not going to release it into the world until it’s finished.”

On what she wants to achieve with her voice: “I still toy a lot with whatever it means to call myself an activist or an artist or someone who just likes words, and I guess at the end of the day, I’m just a person who thinks a lot, and sometimes it feels like I can compile those thoughts enough to share them with others. For me, the thing I really want to achieve by using my voice is to have more of a conversation. For now, I want to listen more and not speak as much, and maybe speak when I feel like what I have to say hasn’t been said, or it’s important for me to say it. There’s this sort of construed thing online that anyone who has a platform has to speak on everything.

On writing another book: “The book came out in February, and I still feel like so much has happened to me personally since then. So much of your teenhood is about dreaming about what it’s going to be like…and I’m finally hitting the point where I feel like I’m living the movie [moments] and having all these glimpses—like, oh, that’s like Heathers! At some point, when I’m able to get a bit of distance from it, I will sit and write. But right now, it feels like everything is happening so quickly and so in the moment that if I stop to write about it, I’ll miss it.”
