Gregg Sulkin Dishes on Chase & Gert Relationship on 'Runaways'

One thing we noticed in Marvel’s Runaways‘ season one is the relationship building between Chase and Gert.

Gregg Sulkin, who plays Chase, recently opened up about what to expect between the budding romantic couple.

“I think both of them, at the start of the season, are very opposite people, opposite characters. And I think it’s nice to see two worlds [come together],” he told ET. “You may be different, you may share different opinions, but you can kind of put that aside and fall in love with a person’s heart. I think that is Chase and Gert throughout the first season.”

“The amazing part about the end of the first season is they’re both trying to figure out what it is,” Gregg said. “Is it a teenage hookup? Is it a one-night kind of romance, a rendezvous? I think definitely by the end of season two, you’ll figure out where they’re going… You’ll [know] are they in this? Are they in it, or are they gonna go their separate ways?”

Gregg Sulkin Reveals What Convinced Him to Sign On For 'Marvel's Runaways'

Gregg Sulkin is amazing on Marvel’s Runaways and is speaking out on what really got him to sign on for the role.

In a recent interview with Variety, the 25-year-old actor revealed that co-creator Josh Schwartz convinced him to do it and he felt safe in the hands of Josh and co-creator Stephanie Savage.

“I found out about the role when my team sent me the audition. I didn’t know what the project was for, I didn’t know who was involved, and it was a fake character name,” he said about how he was initially pitched the role. “Once I tested, I called Josh Schwartz because they wanted me to sign on to something for seven years that I didn’t know anything about. I was like, ‘Josh, this is a very big that you’re asking me to make and sign a seven-year contract without having read a single thing.’ But he has a great way of convincing people, so here I am.”

“He kept on reiterating that the show is shot in LA, and I have lived here for nine years, so to sleep in my own bed was a big attraction,” he continued. “Both [Schwartz] and Steph have great success rates and their past track record is incredible, so I felt I was in safe hands. I felt like I was talking to a producer who knew exactly what he wanted, knew exactly what he would be doing with it, and I completely trusted him 100%. Both of them had this energy on set where they never panic.
