Sabrina Carpenter Is Super Close to Having a Track List For 'Singular'

Sabrina Carpenter Is Super Close to Having a Track List For 'Singular'

We’re quite a ways away from Sabrina Carpenter‘s new album release, however, a track list for the record might be coming soon.

The 19-year-old “Almost Love” songstress told Billboard that she was close to finishing it.

“I don’t have a final track list yet, but I am very close,” she says, adding that “there’s definitely a lot of heavy bops on this album.”

Sabrina continues that she “wasn’t really expecting that, because I haven’t had an album like that before, or even a grouping of songs like that. They are all very different — I don’t think that there’s two that are exactly the same or too similar. There are definitely some more treadmill songs for sure.”

She also opened up about the kind of songs she wanted to include on this album.

“I found that what I wanted out of this album was to write songs that only Sabrina could sing. It’s a really hard, difficult thing to do nowadays, because we are exposed so much to what everyone else is doing,” Sabrina notes. “It’s so easy to not realize [that] you’re almost mimicking someone else’s style.”

“I tried to go into everything with as much of a clean slate as I could. Whenever people asked me what type of music I was listening to, it sounds weird, but it was just my own. I have to be in the zone and focus on my sound.”

Singular will be out this winter.

Sabrina Carpenter Reflects on 'Girl Meets World': 'It Helped Me Address Issues In My Own Life'

Sabrina Carpenter is making us get all sentimental right now after reading her new interview with Hero magazine.

The 19-year-old singer and actress took a look back at her time on Girl Meets World and opened up about how it made a big impact on her life.

“As I read a lot of the scripts I’d think, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going through this’, so it also helped me address issues in my own life,” Sabrina shared.

She continued, “Also, the show was based on historical moments because in each episode we would tie in to a time in history when a similar situation happened between people. So, we got to cover bullying, religion, autism, feminism, broken families and broken homes…”

Sabrina also found out through the show that each episode was impacting her fans in an amazing way.

“I can’t tell you how many teenagers came up to me and told me, ‘My mum left when I was seven years old, and you’re the only character on television that I can relate to,’” she remembered. “For me it made a great impact knowing that the stories we were telling were being heard by the people who needed to hear them.”

Sabrina Carpenter will make her big screen debut in The Hate U Give, out in October.

In her new interview with Hero magazine, the 19-year-old actress and singer opened up about the appeal of the role – and it turns out, it all had to do with reading the book first.

“I read Angie Thomas’ book before I knew it was going to be made into a movie,” Sabrina revealed. “I loved the book, especially how it humanised all of these situations that we see on the news, filtered through how the media wants us to see it.”

She continues, “We can never really form our own opinion, because we are sort of forced to believe what we’re shown. Hearing this story through a young girl’s words…it makes you feel the situation in such a different way.”

“I wanted to be a part of it in any way that I could, and I do know that it’s such an important film for so many people.”

Sabrina also talks about her character, Hailey, too.

“For my character specifically, the reason that this character exists – who is ignorant and doesn’t recognise her privilege – she exists because there are people in the world like her. That’s one of the reasons we really hope that people watch it.”

Sabrina Carpenter Wants You To Feel Fearless & Confident Listening To Her New Album

Sabrina Carpenter Wants You To Feel Fearless & Confident Listening To Her New Album

Sabrina Carpenter can’t stop talking about her forthcoming album and it’s getting us even more excited to hear it.

“I truly believe that my personality comes through in this album,” the 19-year-old musician shared in a new interview with British Vogue.

She adds, “Each story is my own. I wrote the entire thing, so I just decided to call it Singular because I want it to embody that confidence of being able to kind of accomplish what you want on your own.”

Sabrina also opens up about the messages she wants fans to hear through the songs.

“I hope they feel a weight off of their shoulders,” she shared. “There’s a lot more upbeat rhythms to it that I haven’t really, necessarily explored before that made me want to scream at the top of my lungs to feel weightless and fearless.”

“I keep using confidence and I wish there was a better word for it,” Sabrina admitted. “But I think the main thing is I didn’t want to write songs about being confident. I just want you to hear that confidence embodied through the album, but also know that no one really knows what they’re doing.”

“You’re going to have victories and you’re going to have failures, but you can’t get to the victories without the failures.”

Singular is expected to drop this winter.
