Sam Smith wraps his arm around his new wax figure while attending the unveiling event on Monday (August 10) in San Francisco, Calif.
The 23-year-old singer documented the event at Madame Tussauds on his Instagram account that day.
“Possibly the most surrealist experience of my life…” Sam said “I have ALWAYS wanted to look up my own nose, now it’s possible haha.”
Sam took to social media the next day to share his thoughts on an Instagram account that was created to send gay slurs to him.
“This genuinely doesn’t offend me, coz I’m way too tick skinned when it comes to this kind of shit. BUT I just wanted to share this with everyone, so you can see how homophobia is still SO PRESENT in our society!!” Sam said.

The 23-year-old singer posted several pics to his Instagram account celebrating his new found freedom to sing and speak, including one where he compares himself to Ariel regaining her voice in The Little Mermaid.
“You truly truly truly don’t know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in love with music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx,” Sam added.
The ‘Stay With Me’ singer is expected to return to touring later this month. Sam also announced that he has rescheduled his previously postponed Australian tour to the end of 2015.
