The 19-year-old This Is Us actor portrays Disney’s first ever live action Black prince as Tuma in the film.
“It feels amazing,” he told HollywoodLife. “It’s not even the fact that I’m doing it, but it’s more the fact that people are going to be able to see that on the big screen.”
“When I think about my experiences the first time I was really able to see that was Black Panther,” he added. “I remember how that positively affected me, and I love Chadwick [Boseman]. To know that I’m in a position to where I can, you know, in a way be that representation for a young Black boy that may not be able to see himself on television all the time, or on the big screen all the time… that means the word to me.”
“It’s an amazing thing that I’m doing,” Niles told Popsugar. “I just can’t wait to see the impact that it has on boys that look like me, being able to see themselves on TV, because we’re more than just what the media shows.”
“We’re real complex and layered people and I feel like if we were shown more on TV in positive roles, or just roles in general, that wouldn’t have to be said. We wouldn’t have to say our lives matter. It would be a known thing,” he said.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is now streaming exclusively on Disney+!
Roxana is a self-obsessed and social media-savvy princess who can turn invisible.
“She hates being invisible and not seen, so that’s quite a hard thing for her to overcome. But it makes her superpower so much better, because she has baggage that she has to overcome attached to that,” Olivia recently told Screen Rant about her character.

The 17-year-old actor plays Matteo in the upcoming movie, which premieres THIS Friday (September 25).
“My character, Matteo, is a super shy character. He’s very meek, as you saw,” he told ScreenRant about his character. “And towards the beginning of the film, he is quite unseen by the rest of the group – especially in that first classroom scene. He’s doing his best to fit in, but it’s hard for him because he is very insecure. He has a lot on his mind, and he’s nervous about social settings.”
“I feel throughout the movie, he gains a sense of confidence to learn to trust in the people around him; in the rest of the society. He learns to trust his friends, and by the end of the film, you’ve got this beautifully developed kid that’s ready to start a new chapter,” Faly added.
