Can you believe that we’re only a month out from the series finale of Shadowhunters? We don’t want to believe it either.
Katherine McNamara is still keeping mum on what fans can expect in the two and a half hour movie, but she did drop some hints.
“I could give you a list a mile long of moments [to be excited about],” Kat shared with Syfy. “But our finale is really special. It really does give closure to as many things as we possibly could.”
She adds about the episodes before that, “I think the next few episodes are gonna be special for a lot of people [and] for book fans in particular. We hit a lot of those iconic book moments that we haven’t gotten to yet. I think it makes the series really feel like we’ve actually accomplished what we set out to do.”
Jonathan (Luke Baines) looks a little worried about the sword in his sisters’ hand in this still from Shadowhunters.
In “The Beast Within”, a demon outbreak in New York City on Halloween becomes a top priority at the Institute, but as the Shadowhunters hunt the demons, Jace (Dominic Sherwood) becomes more worried about Clary (Katherine McNamara).
Meanwhile, Alec (Matthew Daddario) has to juggle the outbreak with his deep concern about Magnus’ (Harry Shum Jr) depression.
Shadowhunters airs TONIGHT, April 15th @ 8PM ET/PT on Freeform.
The 28-year-old actor opened up in new issue of Grumpy magazine about the number one reason he joined the series and how fans will come to understand what Jonathan does what he does.
“It was always a dream to work on a show like this to be honest. I think that a lot of people have a very specific idea of who Jonathan is, because of the things that he does, and how he presents himself. But there is so much more there,” Luke says. “I was so interested to be able to unpick that, and look at what makes someone do the things that he does.”
Luke continues that over the final episodes, “people are gonna be able to understand Jonathan a lot more. You may not like him still, you may hate him which is understandable because of the things that he has done and the things he does do.”
“I do think that at the end of the series, you’ll be able to understand him more, and if people can do that, then I’ll be really happy, I’ll be pleased with the work I did.”
Meanwhile, Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) come up with a risky plan to get rid of her twinning rune, which may bring an old enemy back into the fray.
