Shailene Woodley has joined the cast of The Fallout!
The 28-year-old actress will reunite with her former The Secret Life of the American Teenager co-star Megan Park, who is directing the movie.
The Fallout follows “high schooler Vada (Jenna Ortega) who navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family, friends and view on the world are forever altered,” according to Deadline.
Megan wrote and is making her feature film directorial debut with the movie, which is wrapping up production this week in Los Angeles.
“I’m halfway through directing my first feature ‘The Fallout’ and I think this picture perfectly sums up the vibe. Are you exciteddddd? 🤭🥳🤩,” Megan shared on Instagram last week. Check out the pic below!
Maddie Ziegler, Niles Fitch, Julie Bowen, John Ortiz and Will Ropp also star in the film.
It has been over a decade since Shailene Woodley shot to fame with her role on the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and now she’s sharing some candid thoughts about her time on that show.
“When I signed onto Secret Life, I read [three] episodes and I signed a contract for six years. [Those episodes] all hit home. I had friends in high school who were pregnant. It felt like everything that I wanted to be sending into the world,” the 28-year-old actress said in a new interview with Bustle.
The show ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2013 and over the years, the message of the series became a lot less progressive and characters were shamed for having intercourse and some vowed to save themselves until marriage.
“There were a lot of things that were written into the scripts that not just me, but a lot of the cast, disagreed with,” Shailene said. “There were belief systems that were pushed that were different than my own. Yet legally I was stuck there. To this day it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. So being on Secret Life propelled me to be more vocal about my own belief systems.”
In another recent interview, Shailene opened up about being in an open relationship.

The 30-year-old actress was joined at the Paris Fashion Week show by fellow former Freeform star Shailene Woodley, who sat in between music superstars Usher and Janelle Monae.
Ashley and Shailene both starred in shows on the network at the same time, which was ABC Family at the time, from when Pretty Little Liars started in 2010 until The Secret Life of The American Teenager ended in 2013.
Earlier that week, Ashley and her girlfriend Cara Delevingne attended the BOSS fashion show together in Milan.
