Shailene Woodley gladly accepts an award from Sean Penn at the Trophee Chopard In Partnership With Variety Magazine event during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival held at Martinez Hotel on Thursday afternoon (May 17) in Cannes, France.

The 20-year-old actress, in Jason Wu, and Ezra Miller were honored at the annual event which celebrates the talent of two rising actors.

Later in the evening, Shailene (in Calvin Klein Collection) hit up the Women In Film celebration with IFP, Calvin Klein Collection & euphoria Calvin Klein held at Villa St George.

That event celebrated actors Diane Kruger, Naomi Watts, Ludivine Sagnier, Shailene and Jessica Chastain.

Shailene Woodley gets a burst of color as she arrives at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

The 20-year-old actress wore a dress designed by Christopher Kane, who also went as her date. She finished off her look with sabbia brown diamond stud earrings from Pomelatto and shoes from Tabitha Simmons.

Shai recently chatted with MTV about getting big sister points with her younger brother.

“My little brother told me when he found out they were making a movie that if I didn’t bring him to the premiere I would lose a lot of big sister points,” Shailene shared.

Shailene recently chatted about her other interests with The One Page magazine.

“I’m studying to become an herbologist, so even buying a foraging knife is so exciting,” she shared. Shai added, “The smell of Doritos makes my body quake.”

Shailene, 20, recently chatted with ASOS about her personal style and style icons.

“My style…consists of sweats, sweats and sweats. Big baggy jeans – specifically jeans that you find in thrift stores that are obviously not made for women – those are the best because they’re super-comfy. And I love baggy sweaters, too,” she shared.

She added of her style icon, “Emma Watson kills it on the red carpet. But she wears things that I could never – or ever want to – wear, so I think that’s why I admire her so much.”

On not paying attention to fame and fortune: “I don’t pay any attention to all of that stuff. I never have. know nothing about the industry, nothing about the ‘business’ and I intend to always be that way. There are more options coming in for me (since The Descendants), but that really doesn’t affect me, because I will never do a movie I’m not passionate about. I’d rather be in a two-minute scene in a phenomenal Meryl Streep movie than the lead of an action-hero film.”

On looking towards the big screen: “Movies are where my heart is at. I love dark roles – roles that appear scary. Not in a horror film way, but like ‘Black Swan’ or ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.’ Films that take the audience on an emotional journey. And I would love to play Patti Smith in a film one day – I’m re-reading her autobiography, I’m obsessed with it.”

On criticism of her Valentino Couture Oscars dress: “A lot of people didn’t like it. They were like, ‘she’s 20, she’s covering herself up, why is she doing that?’ But to me it felt classy and elegant and that’s what I think of when I think of the Oscars. It felt simple and elegant and it still represented who I am. Most of my clothes come through friends – this cardigan is two years old and these jeans are my friend’s boyfriend’s.”

On getting into archery: “I’m excited to become a badass archer. I want to be able to shoot a small pen dot on the wall, 20 feet away. I want to be like (The Hunger Games’) Katniss.”

Shailene Woodley has committed to star in The Spectacular Now, Variety reports.

Four years in the making, the 20-year-old actress will star as a teenage girl who convinces an alcoholic high school senior that his philosophy of living only for the moment may not be all it’s cracked up to be.

The pic is based on the Tim Tharp novel of the same name and will be directed by James Ponsoldt.

Once upon a time, Thomas McDonell was attached to star as the senior.

In the spring premiere episode “Smokin’ Like A Virgin,” Amy (Woodley) reveals to Ricky (Kagasoff) and her family that she wants a long engagement and is not quite ready to get married yet. Amy also contemplates summer school, while Ashley (India Eisley) surprises her family by returning home.

Ben (Ken Baumann) is interested in Dylan (Ana Lucasey), the new girl he met at the graduation party, but her parents want her to be cautious while Leo encourages Ben to ask her out. But, it turns out that Ben should be the cautious one as it turns out that Dylan and her friends Raven, Mercedes and Wendy might be trouble.

And, Adrian (Francia Raisa) and Grace (Megan Park) decide to put their boy trouble aside, move in together and attend summer school to support each other over the break.

“Smokin’ Like A Virgin” premieres Monday, March 26th @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
