Sharna Burgess is opening up about he she lets go of all things digital for a digital detox day every so often.

The Dancing With The Stars pro wrote a blog post on her website about how she wants to start taking more of the days in 2018 to fill “your day with real things. Things that can better you.”

“Confession time! I’ll be the first to admit, social media can be a good thing, something I love most about it is being in touch with all of you!” she writes on her website. “Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, all serve a very real and valuable purpose if used responsibly, BUT like most good things, it’s not all good, all the time. Let’s be real with ourselves … we can get lost in there.”

“I decided to challenge myself to a day without social media more often,” Sharna continued. “Instead of thinking about it as giving something up for a day, I thought of it as what I could gain. I chose to listen and be mindful of my own thoughts and feelings. Social media has a way of flooding our brains with so many images and ideas that can often fill our head with a lot of negativity. I wanted to give myself a real break, and see how I’d feel if I put all that time spent on social media doing something else! Something that could actually improve me rather then something that could potentially drag me down.”

“With the holidays here and a new year approaching, I want to encourage you all to take a digital detox and see how you feel, filling your day with real things. Things that can better you. And whenever you choose to come back online, if you do ;) let me know what you learned and got out of it!”

Sharna Burgess has opened up about her opinion of Nick Carter just after he was accused of rape by former Dream singer Melissa Schuman.

The DWTS pro came to Nick‘s defense after the allegations and wants all her fans to know that “this is not victim shaming, y’all know me and I would never. Just because I support Nick, doesn’t mean I don’t support female empowerment or #metoo. They are both movements that I am a part of, here for and proud of.”

During season 21 of Dancing With The Stars, when Sharna and Nick were partners on the show, she says that he was “definitely one of the most respectful guys that I’ve ever danced with on the show. So understanding of the difference between the character and the dance, and then the coach and the dance, all of the different levels of relationships that we have with our partners on the show.”

She continues, “From day one, he was just incredibly sweet and understanding of what it was that we had to do. He was very accepting of me bossing him around every day. …But what I loved about Nick, too, was that he always took ownership of the things that he’d been through – the darkness in his history, the mistakes that he’s made – he wanted to be very open about them
and how he felt about them.”

“Not once did he ever speak to anybody badly, demand anything, become a diva, show anything ugly other than just absolute gratitude for being there, for having made it that far, and just a passion for working hard and trying to do better.”

Sharna Burgess has perfectly captured the power of female friendships in her latest blog.

“Something very special for me about being on tour is that I am lucky enough to perform across the country with a group of wonderfully talented people and among them is some incredibly strong and powerful women,” the Dancing With The Stars pro starts off.

Much like Lindsay Arnold touched on in her past blogs with JJJ, Sharna also found out that once she ditched the judgement about others and about herself, she was able to truly be confident and shines a light on how that only helped her forge amazing friendships with all of the female dancers on DWTS.

“I appreciate the presence of all the hard-working, passionate women I am surrounded by everyday,” Sharna adds. “As different as we appear to be on the outside, at our core we are very much the same. We are infinite. We are women. Strong, gentle, intelligent, understanding and compassionate.”

“My co-stars on DWTS are just a few of the outstanding examples of women in my life that I appreciate, admire and learn from every day. The universe has put these people in my path to travel some part of my journey with. I don’t take that for granted anymore.”

Sofia Carson becomes the princess we all knew she was for the 2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Wednesday night (October 25) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Descendants 2 actress joined digital creator Bethany Mota, dancer Sharna Burgess and actress Isabela Moner at the prestigious event, which Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco also attended.

The 2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala celebrated the Foundation’s 35th Anniversary and continues the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime.

FYI: Sofia wore a breathtaking Monique Lhuillier gown; Isabela wore a John Paul Ataker gown with a Joelle diamond ear cuff, Le Vian diamond earrings, and diamond rings by Borgioni and Djula; and Bethany wore Jovani.

Dancing With The Stars is down one judge this season on the show, as Julianne Hough took the season off to start filming a brand new movie — and the pros are definitely missing her.

“I miss her,” pro Sharna Burgess admitted to ET after Tuesday night’s show. “I miss Jules’ energy up there, her knowledge on ballroom dance and the way she would critique the information she would give.”

She adds, “I think she was such a wonderful part of our panel, and she is seriously missed by all of us.”

Sharna continued, saying that Julianne was a beam of positivity on the panel for everyone on the show and not having her around, might’ve affected scoring.

“I’d never even thought of that [affecting the scores], actually,” she says. “We’ve just been so tunnel vision on what we’ve got to do. But I think that is a big part of it, even if Jules was to give a six, she always had something [nice] to say about it. So, you are right.”

No word on if Julianne will return for next year’s show or not.

Derek Hough is definitely in love with Hayley Erbert!

Just after walking the red carpet with Hayley at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend, and dipping her for a kiss, the Emmy nominee headed to Instagram to rave about his love for the DWTS troupe dancer.

“Nothing better in the world than sharing your experiences with the woman you love,” he wrote. “Everything is amplified in the best possible way. #love #emmys #redcarpet @hayley.erbert.”

They are so cute!

Sharna Burgess is one of our favorite pros on Dancing With The Stars and in the past few seasons, has missed the mirrored-ball trophy by thismuch.

Seriously, she’s been so close to that trophy with her respective partners, only to miss out just a little bit, ending up everywhere from runner-up, to 5th place.

While we have a feeling about who Sharna is partnered up with this season (he’s an athlete; she’s always with athletes it seems), it still won’t stop us from dreaming of another partner for her for season 26 and beyond.
