Simone Biles Becomes First American to Win Medals in Every Event at Worlds

A HUGE congratulations are in order for Simone Biles!

The USA gymnast continued to make history during day ten of the 2018 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships held at Aspire Dome on Saturday (November 3) in Doha, Qatar.

At the event, Simone became the first American ever – and the first woman in 30 years – to go 6-6, winning medals in every event. She secured gold on the floor exercise and bronze on the balance beam.

Additionally, she had already won golds in the team competition, all-around and vault, and silver on uneven bars.

Simone has now earned a total of 20 medals, matching the career record for a female gymnast, held by Svetlana Khorkina. Simone also has the record for most overall world titles ever, with 14.

“What a night… so many emotions… less than a year since I got back into training so I try not to be too hard on myself. Although I still placed 1st and MADE HISTORY I’m not entirely pleased with my performance. I’m still trying to find my confidence. But I won’t give up 💙 I’m proud of myself! —> now onto finals,” Simone shared on Instagram on Friday, adding on Saturday, “World silver bar medalist 🥈 … I CANT BELIEVE IT.”

Simone Biles Makes History By Winning 4th All-Around Gymnastics World Title

Simone Biles is truly the greatest gymnast of all time – as she just won her FOURTH world All-Around Title during the Women’s All-Around Final during Day Eight of 2018 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships held at Aspire Dome on Thursday (November 1) in Doha, Qatar.

The 21-year-old athlete placed first at the competition, with Japan’s Mai Murakami in second and defending world all-around champion Morgan Hurd from USA in third.

Simone‘s win places her in the history books as she now has four world all-around titles dating back to 2013, one from every worlds in which she competed. Remember, this was WITH a kidney stone.

Her win also breaks a tie she held with Russia’s Svetlana Khorkina.

The competition will continue for Simone and Morgan, as they compete in the individual events later on this week.

Simone Biles Competed With A Kidney Stone at Artistic Gymnastics Championships This Weekend

Anyone who’s ever had a kidney stone will know 100% that they are pain-ful!

So, just imagine having one and then having to do a million flips and tricks and nail them because you’re Simone Biles, the greatest gymnast of all time. Because she did that.

Over the weekend at the 2018 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Doha, Qatar, Simone continued to break records by securing the highest individual scores on the beam, vault, and floor, and placed second on the uneven bars; and we emphasize this: with a kidney stone!

Oh, and no big deal, but her vault performance where she added an extra half twist was named “The Biles”.

“nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hrs before world championships. this kidney stone can wait…. 👊🏾 doing it for my team! ❤️ I’ll be gucci girls !” Simone shared with fans on Twitter the night before the championships, in the hospital.

Later on, Simone opened up about discovering her kidney stone: “We had to go to the ER, because I’ve been having stomach pains on my right side for two days. We started to think it was my appendix, so we wanted to go as a precaution. We got tests done, and they found a kidney stone. I’m in a bit of pain [today], so adrenaline helps.”

As of today, Simone still hasn’t had the stone removed.

Simone Biles Slams USA Gymnastics President After Controversial Tweet

Simone Biles speaking out in response to a controversial tweet from interim USA Gymnastics president and CEO Mary Bono.

Mary was named to the position last week and it didn’t take long for a recent tweet of hers to go viral.

In a now deleted post, Mary shared a photo of herself filling in a Nike logo on a pair of sneakers in response to Colin Kaepernick‘s campaign.

Mary wrote, “Playing in a charity golf tournament raising money for our nation’s Special Forces operators and their families. Unfortunately had these shoes in my bag. Luckily I had a marker in my bag too.”

Simone quoted the tweet, writing, “*mouth drop* don’t worry, it’s not like we needed a smarter usa gymnastics president or any sponsors or anything”

Mary has since expressed regret for posting the tweet.

Gymnast Simone Biles Wears Teal Leotard for Sexual Assault Awareness While Winning Her 5th National Title

Simone Biles just keeps making history wherever she goes!

The 21-year-old Olympian just earned her 5th national title at the 2018 U.S. Gymnastics Championships held at TD Garden on Sunday (August 19) in Boston, Mass.

There was also a hidden meaning behind her teal blue leotard – it was a nod to sexual assault awareness. Simone and four of her fellow Final Five team members were victims of Larry Nassar‘s abuse.

With her win, this makes Simone the ONLY gymnast to win the national competition five times, and she’s also the first to win all five (5) gold medals since Dominique Dawes in 1995.

Remember, this was Simone‘s second meet after taking off for 14 months after the Rio Olympics. Next up for her is worlds!

Simone Biles Takes Top Spot at U.S. Classic Gymnastics Competition 2018

Simone Biles Takes Top Spot at U.S. Classic Gymnastics Competition 2018

Simone Biles stands proud on the podium in the number one spot after competing in the 2018 U.S. Classic gymnastics seniors event held at Jerome Schottenstein Center on Saturday (July 28) in Columbus, Ohio.

The 21-year-old Olympian won the all-around competition, with Riley McCusker coming in second, and Morgan Hurd in third.

“I was nervous with how I would handle it all,” Simone shared with press afterwards. “To come off bars, where I had a fall, and go to beam and put up a strong routine, I was pretty proud of how I handled it.”

Simone also opened up about coming back to competition after taking two years off.

“This time is for me to come back and have fun and really enjoy the sport and not set so many expectations for myself because I met a lot of those in the last quad. I feel like now I don’t have to be so nervous, walking on eggshells, because we already achieved what we did in Rio.”

She adds, “We’re already Olympians at this point, where before you were kind of nervous that everything you did could mess up whatever you wanted to do. I’m coming back and doing what I want to do, and I’m not doing it for anybody else.”

Simone is still planning on going to the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
